Why MBA from IIFT Kolkata?
I grew up in Rajasthan. After gettingadmissionto Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, I started thinking about my career possibilities. After considering my options, which included studying UPSC and law, I decided to pursue a career in management immediately after graduation.

I decided to pursue my MBA education at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (Kolkata),India's best business institute and the country's only university affiliated with the Ministry of Commerce.
IIM Raipur, IIM Kashipur and other Baby IIMs were my other options apart from IIFT Kolkata.

IIFT Kolkata Library
I chose IIFT Kolkata over newer IIMs because of the institute's history and excellent location. Also, IIFT's reputation is very useful for me as I want to work in Trade.

IIFT Hostel
There are two There are 2 hostels one for boys and one for girls. The rooms in the boys' dormitory are small and for single-person accommodation , while the rooms in the girls' dormitory are larger and shared by two people.

Being surrounded by friends makes life quieter. I learned the value of the living program as it was my first time living on campus.

Like other hotels, the food is good, good, good and sometimes terrible. The daily breakfast is good but the hotel has no air conditioning, which is a problem considering the humidity in Kolkata. Each room has a bed, a desk, a mirror and a vision board.

Students usually walk to classes and play table tennis. The most popular place is Nescafé located by the lake in the middle of the campus.
Life at IIFT Kolkata
We have Section Wars in12sports such as tennis, carrom, table tennis and basketball. We also have a Cricket Tournament that includes all processes including Auction and match scores broadcasting.

IIFT Kolkata Classroom
The campus also has a proper gym with a full-time instructor Compared to what I hear from my friends in other B-schools, IIFT Kolkata has a great culture where batch unity is reflected in everyday things
The hostel has a common room on each floor and each has different facilities such as a table tennis table, pool table, foosball, carrom, and cinema centre Stepping into IIFT Kolkata was full of excitement.

IIFT Kolkata GYM
The first few months were overwhelming with preparation for summer, cv making and case competitions for which, IIFT is number one in India, Hence there was a lot of pressure both internal and external to perform well, the first trimester consisted of committee selections for the junior batch, Introductory classes to build a base in all of the aspects of business management ,from making friends to being immersed in Kolkata culture.

IIFT Open Air Theatre
Being in the "City of Joy" during Durga Puja was magical, we had a 10-day holiday, during which we all went home, I came back earlier to see the famous pandals of Kolkata, that was an experience worth remembering and is a major part of life for IIFT Kolkata students along with trips to Darjeeling Academic rigor is complemented by numerous extracurricular activities. Attending business conferences and business meetings broadened my horizons and provided insights beyond books. I got a unique opportunity to contribute to the organization of IIFT Kolkata's annual business conference, Vivan.

Participating in these projects not only improved my organizational skills but also allowed me to interact with industry leaders.
The academics in general are rigorous but manageable yet still, unlike a lot of people say, we get a lot of time to do other things as well.
The real lessons come from overcoming the complexities of teamwork, learning to manage time effectively, and understanding the intricacies of working in diverse groups. “Case Study Culture” In every assignment, we get assigned to work with a different set of people which I felt helped a lot in bonding and made me meet and know a lot more people than I would have done otherwise
Being involved in various organizations and groups added another layer of meaning to my MBA journey. Whether joining a business team or a writing team, every collaboration brings unique challenges and learning. (GAS)
Laughter, tears and everything in between
Fun isn't just limited to festivals and events. The idle moments in the hostel room, the laughter over midnight coffee, and the bonds formed during research evenings defined the essence of my first few months at IIFT, The things we did whether Studying working on a case competition or just playing watching a movie, I was never alone and Although at first I felt I would be homesick very quickly IIFT started feeling like home, having my best of friends living in the nearby room, I feel everyone must experience a hostel like for in his/her life
Day at IIFT Kolkata
The morning class decided the pace for the day. Depending on the timing and the Previous attendance I had in the class the waking time was decided. On most days we have 3-5 classes, with every class of 1.5 hours with a 15-minute break between, and a launch break from 2:15 pm to 3:00 pm
The mess is a very important place for us not because of the food, in fact that’s the last thing, the reason for this mess is the only place we spend time with our friends who are in other sections during the day, talking and eating together discussing the new meme or what happened in the class or any other gossip or intellectual discussion depending on we sat with.

IIFT Kolkata Hostel Mess
The time after lunch was difficult especially on the days with class right after lunch, sleep was hard to beat, and I have to confess I have slept in every single after-lunch class for at least a minute
The classes usually end at 6:15 but on days can go up to 8:30 pm night is for renewal post dinner we usually do something sporty Whether it's a football match, Basketball or Cricket match or TT.

IIFT Kolkata Campus Overview
Wreck Night is interactive. From exciting date conversations to vacation plans or the latest Bollywood gossip,THis is an opportunity for friendship to bond, This was the time when all of us felt at easy having completed the day’s work and in Time for the next to start.
This in my opinion was the best time of the day, it was our time not scheduled for anything(usually) we could do whatever we felt like and Depending on what that is we slept.
