You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

My passion to learn and educate the younger generation keeps me connected with this field. I enjoy motivating students and guiding them to achieve their goals. Seeing my students succeed in their career and in higher education is a matter of pride for me and keeps me moving forward.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

I would advise students to pre-plan for their careers from their schooling days. Stay focused on your goal and work on upskilling yourself. Pay attention to what is in demand in the industry and try to meet it. Moreover, it is essential to relax and take the time to refocus on your goals every now and then.

What are some plans that you’re currently (or will be) designing for PEWS Group of Institutions international affairs and/or students?

We are currently organizing national and international-level programs and inviting nursing and allied health Sciences experts and stakeholders from healthcare organizations to interact with our students. We encourage our students to participate in various seminars, workshops & conferences related to their field in state, national and international levels. We have offers for placements in international organizations like OET, CRNE, TOEFL to name a few and still planning to collaborate with other healthcare providers from different parts of India & abroad.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Institute and the students are?

My responsibilities are to plan, supervise and execute annual academic plans. I also take care of extracurricular activities for the overall development of our students. We also oversee the day-to-day operations and set clear learning goals for our stakeholders. Other duties include monitoring and reporting on teacher’s performance and researching new resources and techniques to improve teaching.

What do you think should be the Institute top priority over the next 10 years?

The top priority for the institute should be maintaining its current status and moving forward to provide more quality degrees to society. Currently, we only have medical courses like BPT/MPT, medical laboratory technology, Optometry, Operation theatre technology and nursing courses MSc Nursing, BSc Nursing, post basic BSc Nursing, GNM/ANM. Further, we are planning to extend MSc MLT & MSc Optometry with various specializations in the years to come.

What do you see as PEWS Group of Institutions greatest strengths?

One of our greatest strengths is our Alumni’s as we believe that we have trained them in such a way that they are independent and expert in their field. Adding up to this, our location and Campus as well as the qualified faculty members are the key differentiating factors. We have included smart classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and a well-stocked library. For out-of-station students, we have hostels, and we have tie-ups with a hospital nearby for quick medical care. PEWS also have an excellent placement track record. Our students have been placed in state and central Government roles with private jobs.
