20% B-Schools Plan to Keep GMAT and GRE Waiving Policy as Permanent
Kaplan also had a survey on the admission officers of 104 B-schools and the survey results show that their admission policy is a bit progressive. The survey results as follow:
- 24% of the respondents have a suspension policy of GMAT and GRE
- 18% mentioned that GMAT and GRE will be required
- 17% mentioned that GMAT and GRE score requirements are waived currently and they are considering to keep it permanent
Along with that, some features of the application process of this session are waiving the application and deposit fees. Waiving the work experience requirement and extending the application deadlines are the add-ons to make the process more flexible. The universities are considering GPA and other academic results for admission.
Now, this is a fact that the admission process of this year is unlike other years – this is not just flexible, also it is a student-friendly admission process. This is an easier way to secure a seat in the globally top B-schools. It is probably an indication that competition will be even higher this year. The matter of making GMAT and GRE optional as permanent admission policy is still a question but there is a possibility of it.
