What is CLAT?
Common Admission Law Test (CLAT), is an offline entrance exam test conducted across the country, for admissions into various law programs offered by top universities in India. The selection procedure of the students to these law colleges is based on their merit scores.
Until 2018, this exam was conducted on a rotational basis by the National Law Colleges and NLU’s. But presently, the exam is conducted by a permanent authority based on the consortium of the NL.U’s.
The allotment of seats for the students in the law colleges is done according to the merit list of the CLAT entrance. Last year 2,820 seats were available for the undergraduate law programs and 755 seats were available for the postgraduate law programs.
