- The Master of Engineering (Mechatronic) is intended for graduates with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronic), or similar qualification, who wish to undertake more advanced studies in selected specialist topics in mechatronic engineering.
- Mechatronic engineering is a discipline that combines mechanics, electronics, and computing. Mechatronic engineers may design, construct, and maintain intelligent machines, micro-machines, smart structures, intelligent systems, control systems, and consumer products such as cameras and washing machines.
- Master of Engineering (Mechatronic) comprises a foundation year and an advanced studies year. You will:
- take advanced courses in mechanical engineering and programming
- gain hands-on mechatronic experience through small-group projects
- pursue specialist topics according to your interests and career goals
- build communication and project management skills
- undertake a significant research project.
- You might design and optimise micro-machines, craft the next generation of cameras or help build underwater exploration vehicles.
- You could maintain a fully automated robotic assembly line. Perhaps you’ll develop cutting-edge defence or medical technologies.
- The Master of Engineering is a 48-unit program comprising:
- 12 units of core courses;
- 12 units of foundation courses;
- 12 units of advanced technical coursework and;
- a project to the value of 12 units, which introduces candidates to research.
- Assessment includes course and project work. All students are required to complete a minimum of 12 weeks of practical experience outside normal class time. Practical experience can be undertaken in Australia or overseas.
