LTMMC BOT FAQs
Ques. Is NEET UG required for BOT admission at LTMMC for 2026-27?
Ans. No. As per the NCAHP (National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions) notification issued in March 2026, the NEET UG requirement for BOT and BPT admissions has been deferred to the 2027-28 academic year. For 2026-27, BOT admissions at LTMMC will be based on 10+2 PCB merit through Maharashtra state counselling (MH CET Allied Health Sciences CAP). Candidates should monitor the official Maharashtra CET Cell website for updates.
Ques. What is the total fee for BOT at LTMMC for the entire 4-year course?
Ans. The total fee for the entire 4-year BOT course at LTMMC is approximately Rs. 2,21,104 for general category students (without hostel). This includes tuition fees of Rs. 52,200 per year and one-time charges of Rs. 12,304 in the first year. SC/ST/OBC candidates are eligible for fee waivers through the MahaDBT portal.
Ques. What is the difference between BPT and BOT, and which is better to pursue at LTMMC?
Ans. BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) focuses on physical rehabilitation through exercise, electrotherapy, and manual therapy for musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions. BOT (Bachelor of Occupational Therapy) focuses on helping individuals regain independence in daily activities (self-care, work, leisure) through purposeful activities and adaptive strategies. Both are 4-year programmes at LTMMC with the same fee structure and hospital exposure. The choice depends on the student's interest: BPT is more movement-focused, while BOT is more activity and independence-focused.
Ques. What clinical areas do BOT students get exposure to at LTMMC?
Ans. BOT students at LTMMC get clinical training at LTMGH, a 1,400+ bed tertiary care hospital. They get exposure to neurology (stroke, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy), orthopaedics (fractures, amputations, joint replacements), psychiatry (mental health rehabilitation), paediatrics (developmental delays, autism), geriatrics, and burns/plastic surgery. This breadth of clinical exposure is a major advantage of studying BOT at a large government hospital.
Ques. Does LTMMC offer a postgraduate programme in Occupational Therapy?
Ans. Yes, LTMMC offers a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) programme for BOT graduates who wish to specialise further. The MOT programme is also affiliated to MUHS, Nashik. Admission to MOT is through the MUHS PG Allied Health Sciences CET (PGP-CET).
Ques. What are the career prospects after completing BOT from LTMMC?
Ans. BOT graduates from LTMMC can work as occupational therapists in government and private hospitals, rehabilitation centres, psychiatric facilities, schools for children with special needs, corporate ergonomics, and community health programmes. The demand for occupational therapists is growing in India, especially in neurorehabilitation and paediatric settings. Graduates can also pursue MOT for specialisation or work abroad in countries like the UK, Australia, and Canada where occupational therapists are in high demand. Starting salaries in India range from Rs. 3-5 lakh per annum, with higher packages in private hospitals and abroad.
