Ques. What specialisations are available in the MPT programme at LTMMC Sion?
Ans. As per the 2026-27 seat matrix, LTMMC offers MPT in two specialisations: Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (6 seats) and Cardio Respiratory Physiotherapy (3 seats). Neuro Sciences, Community Medical Science, and Sports Medicine specialisations currently have zero seats allotted at LTMMC.
Ques. Is the PGP-CET mandatory for MPT admission at LTMMC, or is there a direct admission option?
Ans. PGP-CET conducted by the Maharashtra State CET Cell is mandatory for admission to the MPT programme at LTMMC. There is no direct admission route for government-run colleges like LTMMC. All seats are filled through the centralised CAP process based on PGP-CET merit.
Ques. What is the total cost of the MPT programme at LTMMC, including all fees?
Ans. The total fees for the 2-year MPT programme at LTMMC for a MUHS passout student (excluding hostel) are approximately Rs 1,38,540, which includes annual fees of Rs 64,400 per year (Rs 1,28,800 for 2 years), a refundable security deposit of Rs 6,000, a non-refundable admission form fee of Rs 590, and MUHS eligibility fee of Rs 3,150. This is significantly lower than private physiotherapy colleges in Maharashtra.
Ques. How is the clinical exposure for MPT students at LTMMC Sion?
Ans. LTMMC's physiotherapy department is attached to the Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital (Sion Hospital), a large tertiary care public hospital with over 1,500 beds. MPT students get exposure to a wide range of complex cases across musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, geriatric, and paediatric conditions. The department has been running the MPT programme since 1981 and is considered one of the premier physiotherapy institutions in the country.
Ques. Can students from outside Maharashtra or non-MUHS universities apply for MPT at LTMMC?
Ans. Yes, students from non-MUHS universities can apply for the PGP-CET and seek admission to LTMMC. However, they are required to pay a higher MUHS eligibility fee of Rs 9,800 (compared to Rs 3,150 for MUHS passout students) and must submit a Migration Certificate from their respective university at the time of admission.
Ques. Is hostel accommodation available for MPT students at LTMMC?
Ans. Hostel accommodation at LTMMC is available but subject to availability. The hostel fees are approximately Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000 per year, making it very affordable. However, given the limited hostel capacity and the large number of students across various programmes, MPT students are advised to confirm hostel availability directly with the college administration at the time of admission.
