MDI Gurgaon PGDM-BA FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between PGDM-BA and the regular full-time PGDM at MDI Gurgaon?
Ans. The PGDM-BA is a part-time evening and weekend programme designed for working professionals with at least 3 years of work experience. Classes are held outside regular working hours, allowing candidates to continue their jobs. The regular PGDM is a full-time residential programme open to fresh graduates and early-career professionals. The PGDM-BA has a lower fee (Rs 11,50,000 vs Rs 26,55,310) and does not include boarding/lodging.
Ques. Can I apply for PGDM-BA without a CAT score?
Ans. Yes. Unlike the full-time PGDM which requires CAT, the PGDM-BA accepts scores from multiple exams including GMAT, CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, and CMAT, as long as the score is valid up to June 30, 2026. This makes it more accessible for working professionals who may not have appeared for CAT.
Ques. Is the PGDM-BA from MDI Gurgaon equivalent to the full-time PGDM in terms of recognition?
Ans. The PGDM-BA is an AICTE-approved programme from MDI Gurgaon, a premier institution. However, it is a separate programme from the flagship full-time PGDM and is specifically designed for working professionals. While it carries the MDI brand and academic rigour, recruiters and employers may differentiate between the two programmes. The PGDM-BA is best suited for professionals seeking to enhance their management skills and advance in their current careers rather than for those seeking a complete career switch.
Ques. How many years of work experience is required for PGDM-BA?
Ans. A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification work experience as on April 30, 2026 is mandatory. Only paid and full-time work experience acquired after completing the bachelor's degree is counted. Apprenticeship, articleship, and internships that form part of a course of study are not counted as work experience.
Ques. What are the class timings for the PGDM-BA programme?
Ans. The PGDM-BA is an evening and weekend programme, with classes held outside regular working hours at MDI Gurgaon's campus in Gurugram. Specific class schedules are communicated to admitted students. The programme is designed to minimise disruption to professional commitments.
Ques. Is there any placement support for PGDM-BA students at MDI Gurgaon?
Ans. The PGDM-BA is primarily designed for working professionals who wish to upskill while continuing their careers. Formal campus placement support similar to the full-time PGDM is not typically provided for the PGDM-BA programme. However, students benefit from MDI's strong alumni network, industry connections, and the MDI brand, which can significantly enhance career advancement opportunities.
