Ques. Which is better, an MBA from IIT Kanpur or a PGDISEM program from NITIE?

● Top Answer By Gaurav Kapoor on 28 Jun 24

Ans. Being an MBA from IIT Kanpur myself I can vouch for the institution. I think opting for an MBA from IIT Kanpur is a better choice than going for the PGDISEM program from NITIE. IIT Kanpur MBA is known for its excellent curriculums and research opportunities that it offers to the students including the summer internship programs. IIT Kanpur MBA department is ranked 23 rd  in the NIRF ranking. The placement for the MBA department is remarkable with almost 90% of students being offered placements. The highest package is INR 24 LPA and the average package is INR 18.14 LPA . The fee structure for IIT Kanpur’s MBA is listed below: Years Year 1 Year 2 Admission Fees 2450 - Tuition Fees 140000 140000 Other Fees 16250 9250 Total Year-Wise Fees 1.59 Lakhs 1.49 LakhsRead more

Ques. Which one to choose: IIM L PGP-SM course or NITIE PGDIM?

● Top Answer By Advait Joshi on 07 Jun 23

Ans. For an SCM background, PGDIM from NITIE will be a better option. NITIE PGDIM focuses on core management and operations, while IIM Lucknow PGP-SM focuses on sustainability management.  For students from an SCM background, learning core management is of greater value. You will learn marketing, HR, and finance in depth. Sustainability Management focuses on micro and macroeconomics to sustain the business environment. Sustainability Management is becoming increasingly important in management studies. It is becoming popular in the field of management. But the PGP-SM course will not cover core management.  Check for more details on PGDIM Program at NITIERead more

Ques. Should I join PGP-ACM NICMAR, Hyderabad, as a fresher?

● Top Answer By Divya Saraf on 31 May 23

Ans. The answer to your question is based on the opportunity cost of the different opportunities you already have. Finding a suitable job as a new employee is typically very tough in the construction sector. Even if you want to work for free on a construction site, there are several challenges. The businesses would add you to their payroll, which would make for an excellent learning atmosphere but not a great career one. Therefore, I would suggest joining NICMAR if you're having problems obtaining a job that's decent. However, if you have a job, I suggest you continue with your job and gather the learnings and later pursue a PGP in management from a better institution. Read more

Ques. Should I do an MBA or go for construction management from NICMAR?

● Top Answer By Akriti Banerjee on 31 May 23

Ans. First comes the course, Advance Construction Management (ACM), and any other MBA courses. The finest option for any civil engineer, in my opinion, is ACM. NICMAR or any other college, second part. The primary three or four criteria for selecting one college over another are as follows: Education Placement  Fees Other facilities like hostel, food, etc You can judge NICMAR or any other college based on the aforementioned criteria. Here are some NICMAR facts that can aid you in choosing wisely: Education (faculty) standard - This differs from the past as many excellent professors have gone and launched their own certification programs. Placement: You shouldn't worry, as the average package always relies on the condition of the market. The campus is visited by both domestic and foreign (Middle Eastern) firms. Fees - Approximately (Rs 12.5 Lacs) higher than average. Other amenities are good—you might even say better. Finally, let me mention that you should compare these points to any other colleges you are considering before making a decision.Read more

Ques. Is doing ACM at the NICMAR with 100% loan worth it?

● Top Answer By Devesh Rathi on 31 May 23

Ans. Regarding your question, the following will determine your ability to repay loans in the future. The (in-hand amount) package is more crucial: It comes down to the job you end up with and how well you get paid because more and more people are choosing this degree in the constantly contracting industry. This will depend on a number of factors, including one's grades, prior experience, interview preparation, the market environment, governmental policies, and more. Workplace: Since it has an impact on your ability to save money and repay loans, it cannot be ignored. Imagine you are transferred to a city in tier 2 or 3 where the cost of living is quite low (housing rent, transportation, food, and power, for example). You have a few opportunities for enjoyment as well. You are left with no choice but to save. In the scenario above, assuming you receive at least the average package provided, you can likely pay off your loan in 5-7 years. Attitude: To get an edge over your fellow NICMARians and climb the corporate ladder, you must significantly outperform them as all students graduate with the same minimum credentials after two years (and this is a large number). NICMAR will continually provide you with many opportunities. Just take a leap of faith in the system and in yourself.Read more

Ques. After doing a PGP in ACM from NICMAR, which job will I be getting, and how will be life after that?

● Top Answer By Anamika Sinha on 31 May 23

Ans. After you pass out from NICMAR, that name has a lot of significance. The organization you join values it plainly, and they have strong standards (these standards were established by former students who are currently in key management positions). NICMAR students mostly get placed in Planning/Contracts/Business development/ Tendering kind of profiles. The early years would involve a lot of work and long hours. Once you adapt, learn, and establish yourself, you'll soon succeed in your roles and be able to compete in decision-making with top management. This is a fundamental concept for whatever company you work for following NICMAR. Simply put, NICMAR is a way to add quality and relevance to your hard work so that you might succeed at a faster rate. It is not a shortcut to a better life or job.Read more

Ques. After doing a BE in civil engineering, is it worth doing construction management from NICMAR Pune?

● Top Answer By Niladri Ghose on 31 May 23

Ans. Post Graduate Program in Advanced Construction Management is a course specifically designed for civil engineers and architects. Both technical studies and management studies are combined to create this course. This is the finest course to take if you want to study construction management. The course's scope is wider, which means you can pursue numerous career profiles such as site execution and control, planning, health, safety, and the environment, valuation and estimating, and so on.  The course is multi-disciplinary combining aspects of civil engineering, general management, and construction project management.  The duration of the course is 21 months, having 7 trimesters of 3 months each. The 4th trimester is kept for summer internship and exams are held every 3 months.  The eligibility for the course is having a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture with a minimum of 50% degree.  The admission consists of 4 steps: NICMAR Common Admission Test: 150 marks GD: 20 marks Personal Interview: 30 marks Rating of Application: 50 marks There is an admission for sponsored category too. First, you need to go through the admission test and pay 50% fees higher than the tuition fees. However, sponsored students are not provided with any placement assistance. The institute assures 100% placement assistance but the compensation depends on your performance. Overall the course is good but still, I would suggest you first go for 2 years experience in the field and then go for the course. Read more

Ques. Should I join the NICMAR Pune campus for an ACM course?

● Top Answer By Aditi Deshpande on 25 May 23

Ans. There are not many colleges that provide management degrees in construction. So, if you have a civil engineering/ architecture background and are sure that you want to make your career in the said background only, you could definitely invest 13 lac for the ACM course.  NICMAR Pune often has the companies like L&T and JMC projects visit the campus. Still, you will have to compete with nearly 600 students to get your desired role, and for that, you need to mentally convince yourself to get ready to settle less even after trying your best since there will simply be a demand and supply problem.  If you have connections outside and you just need the degree to brush up your skills and don’t require placement assistance to a great extent, you could join the college. Read more

Ques. Should I join PGP ACM NICMAR Pune as a fresher?

● Top Answer By Aditi Deshpande on 25 May 23

Ans. The highest package of NICMAR Pune is 24 LPA, and the average package stands at 9LPA, so if you are a fresher with an excellent academic record, you could definitely think about going to NICMAR since they have an excellent scholarship policy for the students with more than 95% throughout their school and undergraduate degree.  There are good brands like L&T, Axis Bank, JMC Projects (India), and Zetwerk who regularly visit the campus, but being a fresher the CV shortlisting for all the big brands would be slightly tricky unless you have a great resume. So, start working on your resume if you want to spend 13 lac of your money for an average package of 8-9LPARead more

Ques. What are the pros and cons of joining ACM in NICMAR?

● Top Answer By Kanika Sharma on 25 May 23

Ans. NICMAR's experience makes it hard to balance pros and cons.  Pros: NICMAR Pune students are wonderful. You'll see people from across the nation. Different cultures, languages, and traditions under one roof. Great exposure. Alumni Power: Over 15,000 NICMAR alumni are engaged on social media. AGNI is the industry-changing Global Alumni Platform. Well-Structured Syllabus: All courses have industry-leading syllabuses. Subjects span the construction industry. The syllabus contains a good combination of technical and management disciplines, but many subjects are lacking. Placements: No other college in the nation can recruit over 100 construction companies for campus recruitment. A great strength. Campus life: Countless ethnic festivals, thousands of events, frequent club meets, 4 main fests. Live the NICMAR Pune campus life. Cons: Intake: NICMAR's intake has been rising over 6–8 years. The tide appears unstoppable. 1300+ students have degraded the institution and hurt placements. ROI: Average Packages are falling every year, hence ROI is gone. Two or three years ago, it wasn't. It was justifiable with 600 applicants and 10 Lakhs in fees. No more. Faculty Quality: Some prominent faculty have joined RICS or other competing institutes. Students think most NICMAR instructors are below average.  Placements: Companies have various options due to the huge candidate pool. L&T receives about 400 applications. Thus, the company largely relies on Resume Shortlisting and just a few students get to sit for process.  Finally, is the course worth it? Depending on the student and expectations, yes or no. If you have an education loan and want to find a nice company with a good package, choose a good placement agency. They charge less and give you more. If you're a student seeking personal and professional growth. Yes. The college won't help, but it's nice. Grow yourself. Teaching, research, and crowd support are below average.Read more
