Colleges Where I Was Accepted

Reason for choosing my college

This university master’s in AI curriculum perfectly aligns with what I'm looking for. Moreover, staying in the major cities is more expensive than staying here.

Colleges Where I Was Rejected

Reason for Rejection

During that time, I didn't have an APS certificate. That's why they rejected it. APS is mandatory before even applying for colleges. Also, GRE marks should not be older than 1 year.

Admission Experience

  • Germany is known for its world-class education. I was looking for a university that would equip me with the correct industry skills. So this university aligns with all of my needs.
  • It has a fair reputation but most importantly the location is very good. Staying in cities will cost a fortune while here in Passau it's somewhat reasonable.
  • They hold a career fair every year, where you can go and talk with industry experts.
  • They also have a very systematic structure, with easy registration, facilities, food, communication, etc.
  • In terms of academics, they provide a variety range of topics which are extremely well structured.
  • My overall experience is beyond expectation.

Class Schedule

10

  • Classes are generally 2hr long. There is no proper schedule for each individual, as you have to create your own schedule. You can choose classes which you going to attend, which may be early in the morning (8 am) or late noon (4 pm).
  • The strength of each class depends semester-wise, there is no proper number.
  • You will get lots of self-study time because assignments won't take that much time. But once you join a part-time job, they will get a bit hectic. Proper time management is needed.

Faculty

8

Faculties are very talented. Whatever they teach, they have a very vast knowledge. If you have a very good reputation with the faculties, then sometimes they might help you get a part-time job.

Campus Life

10

The campus is very big, there are library, sports, medical halls etc. Also, there are parties hosted which have a diverse number of people. The campus is located just beside the river, so it's really beautiful whenever you take a walk. There are always some sorts of events going on.

Part Time Jobs

  • It's kinda difficult for Indians to get a proper job, at least during their studies.
  • I have known people who, after completing their master's work in big tech companies, earn around 50k euros per year. In the end, it depends on how much previous experience you have and how well you can learn German.
  • Getting a part-time is very difficult if you don't have proper German knowledge. There are IT and non-IT internships, but getting them is a very difficult task.
  • If you want to work in a restaurant, you need to have proper German knowledge. You have to work max to max 20hr / week with a minimum hourly rate of 13 euros. In short, it's very difficult right now.

Placement

8

  • Pretty much everyone can land a job after completion of the course. But depending only on academics won't get you anywhere near landing jobs.
  • Normally, you can get around 30k euros (lowest) per year if you work in a software company.
  • Finding a job will require thorough research on LinkedIn or job boards.

Accommodation

  • WG Gesucht is a very popular site where you can get legit dorms. But make sure to communicate properly and follow up once in a while because they will ask you to pay in advance (500 euros) before coming. Mostly they are not fake (at least for me).
  • Advice: Make sure to ask them for a live demo of the room and then secure the contract.
