- The master’s degree programs are characterized by a pronounced scientific orientation, the focus of the content on current research issues, and an adequate design of the types of study used. The students acquire extensive knowledge of relevant research methods and strategies, which enable them to apply the corresponding scientific methods to independently solve complex problems.

- The aim of the master’s degree programs is to train scientifically trained graduates who are qualified to work successfully in the chosen specialization area. In addition to in-depth economic specialist and methodological competence and mastery of business administration tools, they should also acquire conceptual and analytical skills in order to be able to react creatively to changes in increasingly globalized markets.

There are no tuition fees at the University of Duisburg-Essen. All students are, however, subject to a student body and social contribution fee per semester.
The social and student body contribution for the summer and winter semesters 2021 amounts to a total of $774.86.
The amount is made up as follows:
- Mobility contribution (ticket): $506.82, of which $367.88 for the VRR semester ticket and $138.94 for the NRW ticket
- Social contribution for the Studierendenwerk: $229.96
- Student body fee: $38.08.
The social and student body contribution is not to be paid before enrollment! Students will be informed about the payment modalities upon registration.
