I think coming to Trinity College for my Research work was one of the finest decisions I took. Along with the world-class exposure, international environment, infrastructure which facilitated my research, the cutting-edge, result-oriented work culture is something I learnt.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is updated regularly. Research Experience is part of the curriculum as mandatory dissertation. Industry placement is mandatory for PhD only.
Faculty
The student teacher ratio is around 1:20. They are extremely approachable. Tutorials are common. Assignments, quizzes and seminars are used for assessments.
Campus Life
Very happening social life, you can be part of several societies of interest, school and student union programs happen regularly. Trinity Ball is the annual event
Placement
Both academic and company/industrial positions are available. Internal placement and student union helps in securing jobs.
Accommodation
You can get University accommodation, but it is expensive, around 1000 Euros per month, for a single room, other accommodation comes for 700-800 per month excluding bills, 500-600 for a single bed in sharing room. All such facilities mostly have shared kitchen and living room.
Exams
For the Post Doc position, standard tests were not required, but I submitted a document from my University that my medium of instruction was English. Complete SOP, CV, and LORs from three referees. I also had to send a research proposal for the grant. Two rounds of interview, one technical with Professors and Senior researchers of the group and another personal one with the PI.
Fees
I do not have any tuition, as it is a research program where I get paid a stipend.
