What is KCT at Coimbatore famous for other than the so called white building?

Coimbatore, known for its beautiful surroundings and great living conditions, is a hub for engineering in Tamil Nadu. But despite its location, KCT isn't the top choice compared to giants like PSG, GCT, and CIT. These colleges attract more corporate attention than KCT does. Still, KCT regularly welcomes WITCH companies, making it a solid option for those looking for a job right after graduation, also scoring a 7 out of 10.

When it comes to faculty, scholarships, and infrastructure, KCT is on par with or even better than many other engineering colleges, depending on which ones you compare it to. There's nothing exceptionally good or bad about it, so it's another 7 out of 10.

Remember, a college doesn't define a student; it's the students who make the most of their time there. KCT is a good choice for those rare students eager to excel throughout their four years. The college produces many competent engineers, but it still has some way to go before reaching the next level. It's not likely to happen soon, though.

I'm in my second year studying mechanical engineering at KCT. While the famous white building, often compared to the Taj Mahal because of its unique design, is a big attraction, there's more to KCT than just that. When I first joined, I was surprised at how many people said they chose this college because of that white building. It's truly a work of art.

Every day, as I walk past it, I marvel at the creativity behind its design. It's definitely an eye-catcher for everyone passing by. Many events and festivals are held right in front of it. On Independence and Republic Day, the dome is lit up in the colors of the Indian flag, which looks stunning at night. During the techno-cultural fest, the building is beautifully illuminated to match the energy and style of the students attending. I really appreciate KCT for its welcoming environment and the opportunities it offers.

First impressions really stick, which is why everyone remembers the "white building." We're definitely proud of it, but honestly, most students don't even have their classes there. There's so much more to life at KCT beyond that building.

Here's what students enjoy about campus life at KCT:

• You won't find any annoying phone snatching here, even if you just borrowed it to call your mom.
• Conversations between guys and girls are mostly influenced by practical things like the boy-to-girl ratio, when the college bus leaves, hostel closing times, and the crowd at the Xerox shop, not by any strict rules.
• Hard-working students are rewarded with Mahatma Gandhi scholarships of ?10,000 for the top 10 in each class. Meanwhile, those who love being active can join one of the 28 clubs and technical organizations. For others like me, there are plenty of activities to keep us busy, like participating in events, writing for our bilingual college blog Life at KCT, and connecting on our unofficial Facebook pages. Even when we poke fun at college traditions, the management takes it well. Plus, there are lots of park benches for chatting or studying, depending on the semester.
• There's no shortage of places to eat and hang out, including a student startup and a brand-new food court that's opening soon.
• The KCT management encourages new ideas and projects and actually listens to students. Our Joint Correspondent is just a Facebook message away, which is pretty cool.
• We get free passes to events like plays, seminars, and comedy shows, saving us hundreds of rupees. Recently, the college gave me the chance to see my favorite "Ponniyin Selvan" as a play in the city, and I'm really thankful for that.
• The only rules we really have to follow are about attendance, wearing ID cards, and helmets. It's just another thing we take pride in. That's how we roll at KCT!
