Being at IIM Kozhikode was one of the most rewarding experiences for me. The faculty is fantastic, with a lot of experience in both teaching and the business world, making the lessons very worthwhile. I attended the EPGP program from 2012 to 2014, and it truly boosted my career. If you want more details about the EPGP, feel free to get in touch with me.
I’m currently in the Post Graduate Program in Finance at IIM Kozhikode, and I must say the faculty is really experienced and professional. The course is tailored for finance, which is exactly what I was looking for, and the average salary after placement is around 31 lakhs. The internship opportunities are great too, with big names like JPMorgan and Bain coming to campus.
However, the fees are quite high, about 20.5 lakhs, and I know there are scholarships available, but you really have to meet certain criteria to avail them. Overall, it’s a good program if you’re focused on finance.
Amazing, Astonishing, Awesome... Trying to sum up the IIM Kozhikode campus in a single word or even a few paragraphs is no easy task, but I'll give it a shot from my perspective.
Let's kick off with the mornings. This campus never really sleeps, so our day often begins at 2 am! Sharing my experience, we're often hitting the books for exams or working on assignments by 5 am, as the first light starts peeking over the academic buildings. For a great view of the sunrise, you can pick any spot on the campus and enjoy the unique colors of the morning. I've captured some early hours after staying up late studying.
Evenings are full of life, with conversations, noise, and new ideas everywhere. Whether you're in a workshop, attending a session in the auditorium, chatting in the canteen, or strolling down to see the sunset by the lake, the scenery is always changing.
Now, about the nights, that's when things get really lively here. Even with the hustle, stress, and looming deadlines, the campus buzzes with energy after dinner! This continues late into the night, with a few of us (like me) studying in spots like the library, amphitheater, classrooms, or any available block. When most of the work is done, it's refreshing to walk back to the hostel at 5 am, where every room has its own stories of hard work and success.
The campus is truly something special, with impressive academic and residential buildings set on two hills surrounded by green forests. The grand entrance greets you with the motivational words "Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode." As you enter, you'll see a picturesque lake reflecting the surrounding nature, a calming Buddha statue, the inspiring Vivekananda, and various faculty and hostel buildings. Not to mention, IIMK features an open-air theater, a hanging garden, and a business museum! The library is a treasure trove of knowledge, always buzzing with students learning. It also features a unique Gurukul area, where we study subjects like Literature in a traditional Indian classroom setting. My favorite spot is the Arjuna Path, where the majestic Arjuna statue inspires with "Arise Arjuna" carved below.
I could keep describing it, but words might not do it justice. So, I'm sharing some photos to give you a glimpse of this miraculous "God's own Kampus."
IIM Kozhikode is a pretty good place if you're looking at the Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP). The curriculum is comprehensive and covers a lot, but I feel the exams are quite tough, especially since we have them every three months. The teachers could be more flexible with the exam format because cramming everything the day before doesn't really work.
Also, the fees are quite steep at around 14,00,000, and they keep increasing, which is a bummer. Campus life for EPGP students isn't really social since there are no clubs or options to stay on campus during the immersion program. Overall, it's a solid institution, but there are areas they could improve on.
Attending IIM Kozhikode was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The faculty is fantastic, bringing a lot of knowledge from both teaching and real-world business to explain everything clearly. I was in the EPGP program from 2012 to 2014, and it really helped boost my career. Feel free to contact me if you want to know more about the EPGP program.
