Honestly, I have only experienced DMC Ludhiana for my Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Nursing), and I can't compare it directly with GMC Patiala since I haven't studied there. However, the integrated learning environment and strong focus on practical skills at DMC have really helped me grow. From what I've heard, GMC Patiala is also a good institution, but my personal experience has been overwhelmingly positive at DMC.
DMC Ludhiana has been a great experience for me during my Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Nursing). The faculty is really supportive, and they provide extra classes before exams, which helps a lot. The campus life is vibrant with many events and activities. The infrastructure is top-notch, and I feel safe here. Overall, I would say DMC is a solid choice if you're looking for a comprehensive learning environment.
I studied Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at GMC Patiala, and although I was initially drawn to the college's reputation, I found the experience to be quite mixed. The faculty are approachable and helpful, but I felt a bit overwhelmed with the internal assessments.
The hostel facilities are decent and the food is good, but I think DMC Ludhiana might offer a more structured curriculum for nursing students.
To start with, DMC Ludhiana is a private college managed by a trust, while GMC Patiala is a government college. In India, many students prefer government colleges because their fees are much lower compared to private ones, which is a big factor. There are other reasons too, but I won't go into those.
Both these medical colleges have a good flow of patients coming in for treatment, which means students can gain a lot of practical experience without stepping out of their comfort zone. Actually, DMC sees more patients than GMC Patiala.
Both schools have a good reputation in the area and are quite similar when it comes to infrastructure and faculty, though there are some differences in both. I hope this helps you a bit, if not completely!
I finished my undergraduate studies at Patiala and did my postgrad at DMC. I would say DMC is superior to GMC in every way. The only significant difference is the fees, which are much higher at DMC. This is something that is very important to many people.
