Both colleges have their unique strengths, but I personally prefer Shaheed Sukhdev College for its focused approach on business studies. The Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) program here is rigorous, and the placement opportunities are quite impressive, with most students getting placed in top firms. The fees are reasonable too, around 14,700 in the first year.
However, the campus life can be a bit dull since it's an off-campus college, and I feel there should be more emphasis on cultural activities. Overall, if you're looking for a great ROI, SSCBS seems to stand out more.
I’d say Sri Venkateswara College has its strengths, especially in the classroom experience and faculty. I did my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science there, and the faculty are highly qualified, with many holding PhDs. The college has a decent fee structure, around 25-30k, and a good society culture, but the placement options aren’t as robust as SSCBS. Companies that come for placements are mainly business or finance roles, and I felt the focus was more on traditional subjects rather than industry-relevant skills.
Honestly, I think Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS) is better than Sri Venkateswara College if you're looking for a strong placement record. I’m doing my Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) here, and the average package is around 11 LPA, with the highest package hitting 44 LPA. Plus, big companies like Bain, BCG, and McKinsey come for placements, which is a huge advantage. The faculty is also quite supportive and knowledgeable. Overall, the exposure and opportunities in SSCBS are incredible compared to other colleges.
Whichever college is more likely to win the soccer championship. That's what alumni will be chatting about.
SSCBS is definitely ahead of Venky when it comes to reputation. All three top consulting firms, often referred to as MBB, have recruited from SSCBS, but they haven't visited Venky. The average salary at SSCBS is about 12 lakh per annum, which is double the 6 lakh per annum at Venky.
If you get into SSCBS for either BMS or BBA(FIA), don't hesitate to accept it, as it is considered the top undergraduate management college in India. For more details, you can check the placement reports on both colleges' websites. SSCBS even surpasses Hansraj and Hindu and only ranks below SRCC and St. Stephen's. It's unfortunate that SSCBS isn't as widely recognized as some other DU colleges.
