I completed my B.Com. (Hons) at Sri Venkateswara College, and those three years were absolutely fantastic. Known as Venky, this college is top-tier in Delhi University and stands out as the best co-ed option in the South Campus. The faculty is outstanding, especially Dr. Shruti Mathur, who is a gem with her dedication and teaching style, which is quite rare in DU.

The campus life at Venky is vibrant and never boring. The students are energetic, and with Satya Niketan market right across the entrance, you have a lively spot way better than North Campus. Having done my M.Com. there, I can say this confidently. The area is packed with popular spots like Hudson Lane, and you can grab tasty momos just across the street. You’ll find places like QDs, BYD, Pizza Hut, Keventers, and 34 Chowringee Lane nearby, though the college canteen is just average.

The cultural fest, Nexus, is a big highlight and attracts large crowds each year. It always offers something exciting and is one of DU's top cultural events. There are plenty of opportunities to explore your talents with various societies like Dance, Commerce, Fine Arts, and Music. The college also boasts good sports facilities, particularly for cricket.

Getting around is super easy now with the metro station nearby. You can reach any part of Delhi quickly. Areas like Sarojini Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Rajouri Garden, South Extension, Vasant Vihar, and Gurgaon are just about 30 minutes away. Connaught Place and Saket are also within easy reach.

After experiencing life at both North and South Campuses, I can say my time at Venky was truly special. Trust me, coming from someone who has lived at both, being a part of Venky is unbeatable.

Sri Venkateswara College is a highly regarded institution in the south campus of Delhi University, ranking among the top 10 colleges there. It's particularly well-known for offering a wide range of courses, especially benefiting science students.

When it comes to job placements, they offer impressive salary packages and excellent opportunities for students. Their annual fest, NEXUS, is a major event, having featured famous celebrities like Kailash Kher, Mohit Chauhan, and Armaan Malik in previous years.

Students also enjoy easy access to the Durgabai Deshmukh metro station on the pink line and the nearby Satyaniketan area, which is full of cafes like QDs and Big Yellow Door. The only downside might be the infrastructure, which could use some improvement. Overall, though, it's a unique and special place to study.

Sri Venkateswara College has a great atmosphere for students like me studying Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Political Science. The faculty is knowledgeable and supportive, which really helps in understanding complex topics. The curriculum is pretty interesting, covering various aspects of political ideologies and systems. However, the semester duration feels a bit short, which can make it hard to grasp everything thoroughly. The exams are manageable if you keep up with the studies. Overall, I feel like I'm getting a solid education here.

As a Mathematics student at Sri Venkateswara College, let me give you a peek into what life is like at Venky.

Teachers: The math department here is top-notch, with some of the best professors around. They're really skilled and make even the toughest topics understandable. Neha Ma'am, who handles mathematical finance, is particularly great at explaining things. Dr. Mainak Mukherjee is another standout, but be prepared to work hard in his classes. Swaran Singh sir, who teaches modeling and numerical methods, is both a fantastic teacher and a genuinely nice person.

Facilities: Most of your time will be spent in classrooms A3 and A4 if you're in your first or second year of math. These rooms are well-kept, and the computer labs are as good as any in the country. There's limited hostel space available for top scorers, split between boys and girls. While the facilities are generally good, there's always room for improvement, as they're building a new science block.

Activities: There's plenty to do beyond books here. The college has about 10-15 clubs, including dance, art, debating, drama, and entrepreneurship. These groups are a great way to grow personally, though joining them can be competitive.

Job Opportunities: The college does have companies coming in for placements, but science students don't have as many options. Economics and Commerce students have better prospects, with companies like EY and Deloitte offering packages around 5-6 lakh per year. For math grads, firms like Willis Towers Watson and PwC offer packages around 4-5 lakh per year. It's competitive, with only a few math students getting placed each year.

NEXUS: This is the college's cultural fest, a lively three-day event. It includes Sufi and Rock Band performances and Star Nights, attracting a big crowd. It's best experienced in person, so I'll let you discover it for yourself.

Sports: The sports facilities at Venky are impressive, with teams for cricket, football, badminton, and more. The college grounds are also used by Sonnet, a well-known cricket club. You might even spot cricket stars like Ashish Nehra or Rishabh Pant on weekends. I once got a picture with Suresh Raina here!

Overall Impression: Sri Venkateswara College is one of the best in India. Before opting for the Mathematics course, make sure you have a real interest in the subject, especially the theory from NCERT books. If not, classes might be tough. But don't worry too much about job prospects; there are many options after graduation, like pursuing an MBA, an M.Sc. from IITs, or even preparing for IAS.

The area in front of the college, Satya Niketan, is a busy student hub with housing, cafes, and coaching centers, catering to students from other South Campus colleges too.

In short, Sri Venkateswara College offers a fantastic mix of academics, activities, and growth opportunities.

Choosing to study Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in English at Sri Venkateswara College was a great decision for me. The curriculum is rich and offers a variety of literature that keeps me engaged. The professors are passionate about the subject and make the classes enjoyable. The only downside is that sometimes the workload feels overwhelming, but it’s manageable if you stay organized.

The college's annual fest, Nexus, is a fantastic experience with great performances. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my choice and the opportunities available here.
