I would recommend joining NICMAR for the MBA in Construction Management. The faculty-to-student ratio is great, and the faculty is quite knowledgeable about practical applications. The placements are also decent, and the campus life is vibrant with lots of student activities.
Sure, the fees are around 16 lakhs for the program, but the environment is good, and I had a positive experience overall. It feels like a place where you can really grow and learn about the industry.
I also got accepted into the ACM program at NICMAR Pune. Let's connect and chat about it. You can reach out to me on Facebook. My name is Sunand Mahajan. Looking forward to our conversation!
Thanks for asking. Huge congrats to everyone who got into this prestigious institute with a strong global alumni network.
Many people have asked me about admissions, academics, and placements, so let's dive in.
Academics - The program offers a good mix of theory and practical work, touching on various aspects of the construction industry. The curriculum is designed to groom you like an MBA graduate, and it's truly impressive! If you're serious about learning, it's definitely worth it.
Past Academics - Your previous academic records do matter to some extent, but they're not the only thing that counts.
Nicmar pointers - Aim to keep your score around 8 or higher to improve your chances of getting shortlisted.
Events - There are plenty of events to join, but you need to decide if you're there for fun or to land a good job. Balancing enjoyment with focus on your goals is key.
Placements - Competition is tough, so start preparing as soon as you get there. Work on general aptitude and technical knowledge related to your engineering subjects. Form study groups, discuss common topics, and learn from each other's mistakes to improve.
Personal Interviews - High grades and numerous certificates won't matter much if you can't impress the HRs. Focus on building confidence, communication skills, eye contact, personality, problem-solving abilities, and self-belief. Many people tend to prioritize academics over skill development, so remember to work on your overall personal growth.
In short, aim for all-around development and that job offer you've been dreaming about. Pack your dreams and get ready to take off!
Deciding whether to join is ultimately your choice, but we're here to support and guide you as seniors. Best of luck! Thanks, Gem Shubham Kulkarni (???? ????????)
First off, congrats on getting in! I think joining is a good idea. Sure, the pandemic is a concern, but by the time you finish in 2022, the situation should improve. I know it's easier said than done.
I also got into RICS, Mumbai for Project Management this year. Like you, I was nervous, especially with how things were with Covid in Mumbai. But I chose to go for it. Think about it like this: if you got a job offer from a well-known company, would you hesitate like this? Maybe taking a gap year is okay for some, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you're already working, that's great because you know the construction industry better now. But if you're a fresher or have left your job, I think it's best to go ahead and join. So, I’d say go for it! Keep your focus and be patient.
From what I know, you probably won't be on campus right away. Most likely, classes will be online for at least 6 months, maybe even a year. Tests and exams might be online too. Let's see how things unfold. Hopefully, everything will improve, and we can return to the way things were. Good luck with your career!
Honestly, if you got NICMAR ACM Pune for 2021-2023, I would say go for it! The curriculum for the MBA in Project Management is really aligned with industry standards, and the faculty is experienced, which makes a huge difference. Plus, the placement statistics are impressive; around 97% of students get placed with top companies like L&T and TATA Projects. I think it's a solid choice if you're looking to kickstart your career in management. Just be prepared for the fees, as it totals around 11.7 lakhs for the entire course.
