CSE is an amazing branch! You'll find 100% placement for this field in many top institutes.

  • Placements for CSE at IIT BHU are also excellent. You can expect to get placed for sure.
  • Average packages are around 20 lakhs, with some students managing to secure 35 lakhs (though they are few in number).
  • It's a dream branch at NITT, alongside VLSI.
  • Students tend to be very relaxed and spend a lot of time in Octagon or Annex, which are large air-conditioned computer labs where you can also get printouts for 1 Rs/page.

However, if you prefer the IIT tag, then IIT BHU might be the better choice for you. It’s a good idea to ask someone from CSE at IIT BHU about their placement packages and other details to make an informed decision.

Thanks for reading!

NIT Trichy for B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering offers a fantastic curriculum with a strong focus on practical skills, coding, and emerging technologies, which is crucial in today's job market. The faculty is noted for being excellent, and the placement stats are impressive, with a high percentage of students getting placed and top packages reaching 60 LPA. In contrast, IIT BHU's Ceramic Engineering program may not have the same level of demand or placement opportunities as CSE, and while it has a prestigious brand name, the specific course focus might limit your career options compared to the versatile skills you gain in CSE at NIT Trichy. Personally, I would choose NIT Trichy for its vibrant campus life, extensive workshops, and better job prospects, making it a more promising option for most students looking to enter the tech industry.

Hey there!!!

For the same branch, always choose IIT-BHU Varanasi over NIT Trichy. NIT Trichy is ranked 9, while IIT-BHU Varanasi is at 10 according to NIRF rankings, but that hardly matters.

  • Location: IIT-BHU is situated in the BHU campus, in the heart of Varanasi, while NIT Trichy is on the outskirts of Tiruchirapalli.
  • Placements: IIT-BHU has better placement statistics compared to NIT Trichy. For instance, the average package for Metallurgy in NIT Trichy is around 13 LPA, whereas it's about 17 LPA in IIT Varanasi.
  • Mess Food: The food at IIT Varanasi is more suited for North Indians and is quite tasty, while the mess food at NIT Trichy tends to favor South Indian tastes.
  • Safety: When it comes to safety for girls, both colleges have their concerns.
  • Weather: Varanasi experiences all seasons, while Trichy is mostly hot year-round with only a few showers during the rainy season. Varanasi has chilly winters, whereas Trichy has virtually no winter.
  • Brand Value: The brand value of IIT-BHU is greater than or equal to that of top NITs.

NIT Trichy offers a strong B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering with impressive placement rates—around 98% and a highest package of 60 LPA, which is significantly better than IIT BHU's B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering, where the focus is more niche. Internships at NIT Trichy also seem lucrative, with seniors landing offers as high as 1.2 lakh per month, while IIT BHU might not match that excitement in terms of immediate job prospects. If you're looking for broader opportunities and higher salary potential, go for NIT Trichy; but if you're passionate about ceramics and want to specialize, IIT BHU could still be a good fit.
