Choose IIIT Hyderabad without any doubt. The CSE program there is on par with the top 7 IITs. However, if you’re thinking, “I want to enjoy my college life and participate in cultural fests and extracurricular activities,” then NIT Trichy might be the better choice. The workload in IIIT Hyderabad’s CSE is intense, and you may not have much time for other activities. That said, the output you’ll achieve there is exceptional and hard to compare with NIT Trichy.

Keep in mind that you might encounter peers at NIT Trichy whose knowledge may not be as strong. This is partly due to the high home state reservation at NIT Trichy. In contrast, IIIT Hyderabad has no reservations, and all students are top-tier, having either cleared an interview with professors or gained admission through JEE Mains. This means you’ll be surrounded by a strong peer group at IIIT Hyderabad, unlike in NIT Trichy.

But don’t underestimate the CSE program at NIT Trichy! It has its strengths too.
