Remarks
Academically college is good ofcourse comparable to IITs but, when comes to exposure it lacks. Far from the city located at remote location. Missing iit tagline, heavy fess are the few negative points of the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is fine and is almost same as in IITs for chemical engineering branch. On an average 5-6 courses are taught each semester. Complete syllabus for GATE CH is covered here in detail alongwith many other courses related to humanities and Petroleum upstream and downstream happenings.
Placement Experience
College is fully responsible for internship of students at the end of the BTech third year at various industries, PSUs generally. 1 industrial internship of minimum 4 weeks is a mandatory here that counts for 4 credits in the curriculum.
College Events
There are innumerous number of events being celebrated in the college. The very highlighted events being annual cultural fest, kaltarang, sports fest called energia, Technical fest called urjotsav, annual conferences etc etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its bit expensive here. Process is going on to reduce the heavy fees and make it quite similar to fee structure at IITs with various fee structure for students belonging to different bands of income.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are three scholarships available for the students based on both merit and merit cum means. On an average 20% of the students recieve a scholarship. There is a separate scholarship for UP guys, NSP and other similar scholarships. The loan facility is also nicely available here.
Campus Life
College is highly research oriented. The labs for chemical engineering students has every necessary lab equipments. There are two volleyball two lawn tennis two badminton and one basket ball grounds on the campus.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are big and spacious. Each hostel room is equipped with two almirahs, two study tables two chairs two racks two tubelights one fan. Individual Washrooms for a set of 10 rooms. For PhD students rooms have attached bath and toilet.
Alumni/Alumna
RGIPT has well settled seniors all across the country. It has strong alumni network. Some of the alumni those in psus do organise field visits for the students and they do attend the events organised by the college when called.
Admission
To get admitted in to this College one first need to qualify his senior secondary education with a minimum of 60% marks. Then he needs to write Jee mains and if cleared mains need to write jee Advanced. Based on his rank in the jee Advanced he will be selected for this college. Generally the closing rank for general category students goes to 17000 after fourth merit list.
Faculty
Faculties are good knowledgeble, expert, friendly. Many of them have iit background did their BTech & mtech from various IITs and PhD and postdoc in foreign countries. The faculty to student ratio is good.
