Remarks
Amity is very beautiful infrastructure wise and has many amenities to make students' lives on campus easier. Academically as well I would say it is good. Students do get to learn a lot of good values as well during the period of their course.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course that I opted for was B.Tech in Biotechnology and according to me the curriculum for this course at Amity is well structured. As biotechnology is a lab based course, therefore students have lab lectures as well and lab records have to be maintained as well. At Amity, they look at an overall development of the students and hence additional subjects like a foreign language and behavioural science are also taught to the students. There are two cycles for the exam: internal(mid sem) and external exams(end sem). The internal exams happen under the supervision of the faculties who teach the subject themselves whereas the external or the end semester exams happen on set dates and are invigilated by different faculties. Syllabus for the internals is lesser as compared to the external exams. Both theory and practical exams happen separately on different assigned dates.
Placement Experience
Placements are not very extravagant to be honest. Very few core companies come for placements as far as biotechnology is concerned. College does offer in house internships for its own students from second year on. There is no stipend offered during the in-house internships.
College Events
There is the annual university fest called the Amity Youth Fest(AYF) which takes place in the month of Feb/Mar. It is a university level event and students can be part of various activities and events. Apart from AYF, Amity also organizes 'Sangathan', the annual sports meet which comprises of various different sport events at university level.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Amity is expensive to study in. For B.tech in Biotechnology, I had to pay 1,07,000 for the first two semesters and the fees gradually increases year wise. So by the last year I had to pay 1,24,500 per semester for the last two semesters.
Fees and Financial Aid
Amity offers 50% and 100% scholarships to meritorious students. Students who have scored 90% and above in their 12th board exams get 50% scholarship and students who have scored 95% and above get a scholarship of 100%. Students though have to maintain their CGPA above 9 to keep the scholarship continued for further semesters.
Campus Life
There are many clubs and committees in the department which the students can join and take part in events organised by them.
Alumni/Alumna
There are all kinds of students at Amity, few helpful and kind and some mean and disrespectful as well. So i can't say for sure if they stay helpful once college is over and everyone has left for their separate ways.
Admission
First and foremost thing which i did was to fill the admission form then i got a call for an English aptitude test which was followed by the interview. Later when i got selected, i got confirmation of admission via e-mail.
Faculty
The faculty at Amity have highly qualified people as teachers. They guide the students well and impart the education in right and understandable manner. Faculty members at Amity have their research programs going on as well which students can also be a part of.
