Review of The BESC

Our college positively has an anti-ragging squad. No harassment in college. all are really very helpful, friendly to us even the gate man. Very well maintained air conditioned fashionable smart classrooms, a great library, Sports zone, clean washrooms, a standard totally veg-canteen, helpful smiling beautiful professors. all are there. If one works hard utilizing all the benefits of our college then surely he/she'll be very successful in life.

This college is affiliated with Calcutta University, so the course curriculum is very standard as C.U. The exam structure of my graduation session(2017-2020) is 'yearly system', we have a midterm test then selection test( pre-final test) and then the University finals. From the new batch(2018-2021) the semester system is taking place.

The placement drives are held in our college very frequently in two-three months cycles. Our college provide a lot of chances of internship. They do have a very helpful team for placement event management. Not only this but our college provides various knowledgeable official events including discussions, debates, competition. our college not only provides job opportunities but they often provide free training sessions under governmental training organisations (such as Board Of Practical Training )for preparing us for future. The training session was very helpful and enjoyable for us. It increased my CV also.

Our college is full of events all over the year. A great number of departmental seminars take place through out the year. Saraswati puja, Independence day are celebrated in a great manner. Umang, the annual festival is one of the greatest college fests in kolkata. Many celebrities come in this event. Blood donation camp, social awareness and social work projects are also very active. We recently had an excursion cum social work at Sundarban- tree plantation and helping the poor children with books and pens. Departmental fresher's party, Mother tongue Day, Rabindra jayanti and also sports events are organised by our college.

The fee structure is really expensive. I paid Rs.35,800/- in 1st year, Rs.38,500/- in 2nd year and Rs.39,600/- in 3rd year. Yeah.the college is obviously expensive but my college provides many good opportunities for us and it has fully Air conditioned classrooms, library and Sports Arena.

I'm not sure of the scholarship or loan facility by our college but I think certainly our college authority helps students in this case. In paying fees the college authority considers installment payments.

Our college is very active in extracurricular activities like drama, dance, singing, cooking, drawing competitions, fashion shows. Laboratories are very useful, clean and well maintained. Our Sports Arena has two billiard boards, one table tennis spot, two darts spot, four carrom boards, four chess boards, one big basket ball yard. We have also a sports teacher who is very active. Cricket and football tournaments are also held here.

The senior students are very dear to us. They are not only our brothers and sisters but also friends. Some of our famous alumni- Nusrat Jahan, Bipasha Basu, Jeet, Vishal Vashistha, Nicolette bird, Ashok Todi, Naman Shaw.

The criteria of percentage of the honours subject I chose i.e. English, had to be 75%, & it was satisfied and I got 69.2% in H.S. but the criteria of direct admission to that course was 70% so I had to pass the entrance exam.

The faculty of the arts department is really very good. The professors are highly educated. They are not just teachers but really 'friend, philosopher and guide'. Not only textual study they also provide us vast of outer knowledge. The class notes given by them are important for exams. They also take care of our needs in class. The faculty of the commerce is also very good. In fact our college is famous for it's commerce courses. And I can't give opinion on the faculty of science.
