Al Shifa College of Pharmacy

Our College is one of the best colleges around the country having an NBA Accreditation. We are 71st ranked in the country and 1st in the state.The College Is affiliated to AICTE.The college hosts several seminars which includes higher dignitaries which is useful for the students. The college also conducts skill improvement workshops.

The course curriculum and syllabus is outstanding and is a little tough not that easy.The course curriculum is put forward by the PCI(Pharmacy Council of India)and ammended by the Kerala University of Health Science (KUHS).We have a semester system of examination which include two theory as well as practical internal exams.Three semesters contains four papers each while fourth semester contains five theory papers and four practicals.

There are several interviews going on in the college of several leading companies of India and our college does not provide any internship for B.Pharm students.Internship is given for Pharm.D and M.Pharm students for Pharmacy Practice and for rounds with respective doctors of KIMS Al Shifa Hospital, Perinthalmanna.

We have several programs that are conducted by the Students Union which includes: Onam celebration Christmas celebration Arts Day Sports Day etc. We have several NSS programs.The programs are outstanding and enjoyable.

The fee stucture is a little bit expensive. It is around 1.10 lakhs per year which includes a fixed tution fee 85000 by the university (KUHS-Kerala University of Health Science)We have a book bank scheme of Rs.4000 which provides books for the four years and a Hostel fee of around Rs.16800

The College provides a Scholarship if a student have scored 80% or above marks in his academic year.I don't know about the loan facilities provided by the college. Several other scholarships are provided by the state as well as central government.

I have already mentioned about the sports day. We have a great football team as well as a wonderful ground.There is a cricket,volleyball and a badminton team.Several tournaments are attended such as KUHS zonal,interzone and Interpharma championship that is conducted by the Management Association.There is chess,NSS activities and we have wonderful labs.

Hostel is really amazing and has a wonderful infrastructure.A single room contains just three persons and the hostel environment is much clear and naturistic.The food is provided by the Moulana mess which costs around 2400 per month.The food is much better compared to several other colleges I know about.

We have a wonderful bond with the seniors as well as alumni through our teachers but no alumni meets are conducted nowadays.I think there is no alumni association for the college but we have great contact with them through facilities.

I just contacted administrator of the admission procedures,Mr.Nizam and just enquired about the availability of seats.Later he contacted us informing the seat availability.A week after I was asked to join the college with requested documents.

The faculty is excellent and they really care for us as well as our results.There are around six department each containing around five faculties including a HOD(head of department).The departments inclutes: Dept. Of Pharmacology Dept. Of Pharmacognosy Dept. Of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Dept. Of Pharmaceutical Analysis Dept. Of Pharmacy Practice Dept. Of Pathophysiology etc.
