When i got into GCT my cutt off was 197 out of 200(obc). The difference between a general candidate and obc candidate would be just around 0.5marks. GCT do not have any entrance exams. It all depends on the cut-off marks i opted for gct because it is one place where you can build upon your other talents apart from academics. They give you all the freedom in the world to develope skills on your own.

The course curriculum is good they are planned in a sequential order the electives you take in the final year are mostly chosen by faculties but in some cases you do get your chances to choose but not more than between two subjects. Faculties as expected in a government college are all experienced but in some cases me people handle classes in the absense of faculties.

Interships were provided by some companies like siemens which offered around 15-20k per month most of the interns got job offers at the end infact all of them got converted.

Placement is comparatively very good. being one othe top 5 colleges in tamilnadu you can expect good placements but again if you are carrying backlogs then the path may not be that easy.Top companies like hyundai, siemens, bosch, tcs etc. gave offers. packages range between 2.5l to 11l/annum average package would be around 3.5l / annum.

There will be one event for a semester you get to have one day celebration in the odd semester and two days in the case of even semesters. The even semester are national level and they are good.

Best in terms of fee being a govt. College the entrance fee for a year will not go more than 25k. this also includes your hostel fee and mess fee and exam fee.

The college itself does the arrangement for state and central scholarships you also get alumini scholarships.

Awesome place for sports great relationship with senior on the filed if you have the talent you can definitely showcase from here. parties are a common thing in the campus. The general ratio is almost equal.

You cannot expect much in a government college. They are not like the ones in private college. You can survive by eating them. But if you want to have feast then you will be disappointed.

Excellent there is a seperate block built for the alumnus.The alumni network is huge and you can always have contact will all those seniors. Alumni meet is common in the campus.

The exams were perfectly structured no glitches.Labs in gct is one of the well equiped ones in tamilnadu.
