The NIO library has been recognised as the National Information Centre for Marine Sciences (NICMAS) since mid 90s. Our institute is also committed to serve whoever seeks information on marine life within and outside India
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure for the PhD program is pretty nominal and had an annual fee of 14K. Students also receives grant from the center govt.

Scholarship options are available for meritorious students, subject to clearing the eligibility criteria.
Campus Life
We have vessels like RV Sindhu Sankalp which operate under the Indian flag under the full capacity as a multi-disciplinary research vessel. We also had a full fledged IT Cell and a library consisting of books and journals from different disciplines.
Hostel Facilities
Accommodation facilities are provided for all the students and full day meal is provided to them, at pretty affordable prices. The mess food is good and the rooms are very spacious.
Admission
Admissions are on the basis of UGC-NET/JRF. Students need to apply on the official website of the college with NET scores and all the other mandatory documents. Students are invited for the counselling round.
Faculty
Faculty is pretty much talented and friendly. They all were pretty much helpful. We had a friendly relationship with them, and they would guide us at every stage of time. The institute is very much research oriented and the faculty and the overall facilities provided make the environment pretty much friendly.
