Nirma University

Nirma has won Robocon competition for last 3-4 years in which the team makes robots based on different theme. This year the team is going to the international level. The team called E-baha is also a champion team of making electrical vehicles.

All major engineering courses are there in the college. Like CSE, electrical, EC, IC, chemical, civil, mechanical etc. Other than that, some courses like law, architecture, pharmacy, management, science are also there.

Nirma has one of the best colleges in the Gujarat to have highest placement. Not all branches have great placement but more than any other colleges in Gujarat. CSE has the highest placement in the university.

There are many technical and non-technical events held every year in the university. All the events are organised by the student clubs itself. Events like NU-TECH, NU-ZEAL, PRAVEG, Vaudeville etc. The technical clubs also organise technical events on robots & much more.

Fees are very expensive as compare to any other colleges in Gujarat. Normal family cannot afford it without pre-planning of the money. But the facilities according to fees are also there. Like free medical service, good infrastructure etc.

Gujarat students are eligible for MYSY scholarship worth 67000Rs. per year if their 12th marks are more than 80% percentile & their parents' annum income is less than 6 lakhs. College also provide scholarship to top 25 students.

Extracurricular activities like cricket tournament, chess tournament, badminton tournament are held. Inter college or inter institutes. Labs have almost every type of equipments based on the particular courses. That all are available for students for their projects.

There is no hostel facility for B.tech students in the college. Everyone lives either in private hostel or in PGs. I am living in the private hostel just opposite of the university. Which is not so good.

Nirma calls alumni every year to guide their juniors. They all are helpful to us. They come from all fields like masters, management, job professional etc. They tell us in which direction we have to go for better future.

50% of the students are selected from the Gujarat state itself. I am from Gujarat. So, my admission was done through ACPC process. Other 35% students are from All India & other 15% are NRIs. For ACPC process you have to score high marks in GUJCET.

Faculties are very friendly to each students. They have many years of teaching experience. Like professor U.A.PATEL has 47 years of experience and had written 3 books on electrical engineering. They all are eager to solve students' problems.
