IIT Delhi is good overall challenging environment in wide range of departments but it is somehow lagging in the technical forefront.

IIT-JEE 2012 All India Rank 2077 Although I was interested in the Mechanical engineering but since my fondness towards physics gave me this option of Engineering Physics at IIT Delhi and since my hometown (Ghaziabad) was also near by so It gave me the best combination to opt for.

The course structure is not so research promoting but it is the sustained problem solving environment among the peers which promotes research orientation. At undergraduate level the whole course structure is designed to broaden the knowledge spectrum rather than focusing on one deep specialisation and course spectrum varies from enginnering to social and interpersonal skills.

Yes , IIT Delhi provides research internship. I'm not sure about the stipend but they provide the accommodations in hostels to the interns. And companies who approach to IIT Delhi for internships are 50-60 in total and roughly gives 30-40k stipend per month.

Placements are quite good at IIT delhi a good number of students were placed . Around 850 students got placed last year at undergraduate level and which is about 92-95 % of the total candidates applied for job. And job offers ranged from 20-25 lacs to 5-6 lacs per annum. And around 250 companies came for placements at the campus.

There are various numbers of festivals celebrated at the campus around one academic year. It ranges from various tech festivals to cultural festivals. Rendezvous-North India's largest cultural festival is the most famous fest at IIT delhi. TRYST is the annual technical of IIT Delhi.

Fee structure is highly subsidized for both undergraduate and postgraduates.Typical fee structure is 50k per semester for undergraduates and earlier it was 30k i.e. 2-3 years back. Hostel fees is around 16k for all the residents regardless of UG or PG.

IIT Delhi offers various kind of scholarships ranging from merit and means and department topper etc. I was awarded MCM (merit comes means) scholarships for the kids who maintain their CGPA above 6 pointers and whose parental annual income is below 4 lakh per year.

Campus life is full of good infrastructure for various kind of extracurricular activities such as sports and dance and dramatics. All kinds of clubs operates at IIT delhi ranging from English/HIndi debate clubs to core technical clubs such as robotics and Automotive clubs. Dance and dramatics club is among most popular clubs at IIT delhi.

In fact exam structure at IIT delhi is one of the most hectic structure among all other IITs. Exams are held 3 times a 4.5 month semester whereas it is 2 times in all the other IITs. And test and terms papers makes IIT Delhi, day to day challenging arena.
