My college experience

Every college has some positive points as well as negetive points. In our college the most important part is our faculty. Most of them are helpful, friendly and have a great problem solving skills. But our principal wasn't that much helpful. He never reviewed our problems, even he wasn't interested to know about those issues.

Examination structure here is same as other Diploma Colleges in West Bengal, of State Board. Two semesters each year. Before each semester, a internal examination is conducted by college. But the practical examination is taken once only for each semester. The semesters are maintained by State Board.

Job opportunities are not too good. Only some low grade companies used to come for recruitment. Internships were given by this college, although I never took any. Internships were paid. We had to pay around 5,000 to 10,000 for an internship to be selected. Although some of our faculties tried to get us a good internships by their own effort.

In my 2 years in this college, i saw only the college fest was conducted every year, that also under our pressure. No other events used to be conducted by our college.!! Tech Fest used to be conducted by our college, but that also stopped before our batch joined there. We had to go to other colleges to take part in college fests.

Fee has to be paid every six months. For different Candidates there are different fee structures. I was a mechanical engineering student and for me it was 10,000 per six months. A admission fee of 35,000 was taken.

Scholarships weren't given from college. Some government scholarships was given, that was available for all the students, including some general and engineering students. No extra facilities were given by the college.

Actually there is no playground in this college, a small playground is situated just beside our college. Our seniors used to tell us tales about the sport activities in that ground. But college never took any interest on that.

No alumni network are here. Although we students are always try to be connected with each other in some social media groups. But college never took any interest about that. Now of course senior students on our time was helpful and caring, as well as us.

Entrance Exam for this college is JELET or VOCLET. I am a VOCLET candidate, took a lateral entry on 2nd year of the 3years course. The admission process for me it was clean and by the rules. I got admission here on 1st August, 2016.

Our faculty of the college was good. I am talking about our mechanical engineering faculty. Some of the profs were really helpful and good. They stood by our side, always. Helped us to get the maximum from our course. Helped us to get a good internships and company for job. Faculty was too good that our practical knowledge of the course were improved. We are glad that we got a faculty like that.
