Decent Government College

I would say with 53000 fee per year, it was a good college then but increasing the fees by 15000 after every few years and bringing it upto 80000 per year is not good and it feels like that now it's not worth it.

The course is a bit outdated, as it is of almost every engineering college in India other than IITs. This is a autonomous college so the same teachers made the question paper who used to teach us. There were two quizzes, one midsem and one endsem in a semester.

From the last year the college is doing pretty well in this segment but when I was in college, placement was only for soft branches, placement for mechanical was zero. The college does not arrange for internship themselves, you have look for it yourself. I did two internships, one from IIT Kanpur and other one from IIT Guwahati.

As the college is in the main campus of the university so there are lot of events being celebrated around the year. Freshers Party. A college technical fest. A college cultural fest. A college quiz competition. A college cricket tournament.

At my time the tuition fees was around 53000/- per year which was very affordable for a good government college. Government colleges are meant to provide good quality in less fees but it is around 80000/- per year now. So I would say it is not feasible anymore.

I did not avail any scholarship or loan. But as of my knowledge, eligible and needy students used to get a scholarship from Uttar Pradesh Government every year which used be a few thousand more than the fees. Also there were Bank of Baroda and Union Bank inside the university campus which were student friendly, so getting a student loan was not that tough.

I would say, labs are seriously good over here. I have visited several colleges during and after my college and realised that this college has a pretty good working labs base. I started the club culture in the college which is still in function. There is a decent amount of extracurricular activities going on every semester.

I lived all my four years in hostel. Hostel is seriously awesome, except the food. Rooms are provided in double sharing. Big spacious rooms with two tables, two beds, two chairs and two almirah. Every room has it's own balcony. 24 hours electricity supply and clean-filtered drinking water.

We worked extremely hard to build the alumni network as college has no data of it's past students. It is still in its growing phase. The alumni are quite helpful. But you need to approach them through proper channel and should have some background skill.

I sat for UPSEE i.e. Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination. Secured a rank of 3913 in General Category. I wanted to go for Mechanical Engineering so I filled only Mechanical Engineering as a choice of branch in all the rounds of counselling.

Faculty of Department of Mechanical Engineering is quite young so they are less experienced but supportive. And on the other hand, faculty of Department of Computer Science and Engineering is experienced but not supportive.
