BITS Pilani - It's Magic

Our college definitely is very student friendly. I have never seen any college offering so much flexibility in every way to their students. Be it in the courses they want to pursue or their inter disciplinary interests. Students can opt for various courses offered by other departments than his/hers. Their are no minimum attendance requirements. If students miss out any class they can always watch the same lectures on an online portal.

Course curriculum of the college is pretty elaborated. Program, plans and evaluation procedure is explained properly. Exam happens in three ways. Weekly tests, Midsem examination and Comprehensive Examination (End sem).

98% of the students who apply for the placements get placed. Almost all the major IT Companies, Core companies in every field (Mechanical, Electronics, Civil, Finance and Consultancy) come for the Campus placements. College provides two sessions of internship one after the second year and one in the 4rth year. Some of the interns even get Pre-Placement offers in the same company in which they do their second internship.

Their are various campus activities which happen in our college. Major of them are the four fests which are celebrated in our college. ATMOS - Tech fest. Usually happens in mid October. VERBA MAXIMUS - Literary fest. Happens in mid January. ARENA - Sports fest. Usually happens in January end. PEARL - Cultural Fest. Happens in March end.

Fee structure is quite expensive. But the students who are not financially well versed and perform well in academics get various scholarships - Merit-cum-Need Scholarship- Awarded to 100 students per year on the basis of Merit and Financial need of the students Merit Scholarship- Awarded to other 100 students per year only on the basis of merit.

Merit-cum-need Scholarship - Hundred students per year are awarded this scholarship on the basis of their performance in the examinations and their financial needs. Usually the parental income cap is around 10 Lakh Rupees INR and the CGPA requirement is about 6.5.

There are a lot of extracurricular activities which happen on the campus including activities in all fields (Arts, Sports, Music, Dance, etc). We have various clubs like Photography Club, Coding club, Music club, Dramatics club, Regional assocs in which students get people from the same place to where they belong. We have equipments and infrastructure for almost every sport. We have a Students Activity Centre which has a facility of indoor sports and a Gymnasium.

There are nine boys hostels and 2 girls hostel as of now. One girls hostel is still under construction. In first year the students are allotted double occupancy rooms. Second year onwards students are allotted single occupancy rooms.

Alumni network of our college is very strong. Every place you visit you will find a Bitsian working there. And they are definitely helpful. We contact them whenever we require any help and they are always happy to help fellow Bitsians. We also organise Alumni meets every year. We are in constant touch with our alumni via various social media groups.

I got admission after the entrance examination called BITSAT which happens every year. After the Entrance examination the candidates are allotted branch on the basis of preferences filled by candidates and their performance in BITSAT.

Faculty is well qualified and every faculty has a doctoral degree in whatever they teach. They are so passionate in their field and keep working on various projects and even invite students to join them in the project works so that students get a hands on experience on experimental work.
