Other than this, I applied for St. Xavier's and Scottish Church college. I didn't get in due to the required marks in class 12th and had my chance at Scottish Church but chose this college because of recommendations from previous alumnis and due to the prestigious legacy of this college. There are two rounds of admission in Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira. First is the written test which you apply through their website and registering yourself as the candidate and the second round is the interview where both the departmental teachers and administration faculty introduce you to the faculty and test your capability to be an asset to the department as well as your commitment to be in this college. The primary reason for shoosing this college is for its quiet and study friendly enviorenment that it offers. Set awaay from the chaotic city and having river ganges at it's side, the ambience is very peaceful and supportive. Other major pros include that there is no scene of ragging or bad behaviours of seniros. They are very friendly and cooperative. There is an anti ragging cell ensuring that such crimes are not commited in the premises. Strict discipline is maintained in the college premises and students sheldom break rules. This makes working and studying much more synchronised and effective here. Talking about admissions, there are admission testa taken for each subject, and an interveiw department wise are taken. The cutoff reaches very low around 7 marks in 50 marks test. The syllabus for each subject is the respective syllabuses upto class 11 and 12 level. I didnot apply in any other colleges....Read More

I applied on Midnapore College Autonomous in computer science department. This college campus is also good . Faculty members are also good . But there placement cell is not so strong. So , I left this college. To get admission in our college you must have to pass in entrance exam and Viva. Fixed number of sit available here....Read More

I got into Presidency University and other CU colleges for economics, rest i got were IIT KGP's B.Arch and JU's Civil, which i am not comparing here. I left Presidency for Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira (RKM) solely because of the fact that it was much better ranked and rated then. Presidency lost its glory on becoming university, and recognition and reputation has drastically fell, also the campus is politically afflicted. Thus I decided to shift to RKM. RKM has a robust reputation not only in India but globally, and is known for its academic rigor, positive atmosphere and the famous 'man-making' process. Ramakrishna mission in usual times take exams after which you were called for interviews and shortlisted. during Covid year there was exception when marks were considered for interview calls and admission. there is a saying the you are not selected but chosen to study at RKM, which I believe is true....Read More
