Remarks
Positive - it's a upcoming college with too many ambitions and a management headed by a young fellow, there's plenty of room for development. There's renovation taking place, new blocks being constructed, etc. Negatives - faculty could have been better , infrastructure still lacks basic fundmentals, labs are bad, no proper ground.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our college comes under VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological university). Whatever the syllabus prescribed by these people, most of the colleges in Karnataka (including ours) follow. Coming to the syllabus, it's not at all relevant to current standards. Exam structure - every end of the semester(4 months) you'll have one.
College Events
Our college hosts two events in one academic year. Intra college fest - Dexterix and one inter-college fest - Sapthrang. Both of them struggle to attract a crowd, the reason being that there's no publicity, people are lazy to even participate and the events themselves, are not interesting.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Yeah, As long as you get a government seat i.e. through CET, the fee for one academic year is less than 1 lakh. Come- K and management fees are way beyond the 1 Lakh mark. Fees for the management quota lie anywhere in-between 1.5-2 Lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loans are available from most of the nationalized banks. College itself doesn't offer any scholarship programmes. There are various scholarship programmes offered by both state and central government for all class of people.
Alumni/Alumna
Since our college is new (18 years) , there's not much done in the field of alumni. There has been a couple of times in last 2 years, where alumni meetups have taken place. Seniors are always helpful and approachable. They do not support ragging or indulge themselves.
Admission
3 ways: 1. Common Entrance Test (CET), your ranking should be within the cutoff. This is only applicable if the student who wishes to join college should be a resident of Karnataka for a minimum of seven years. 2. COMED-K, again the rule is the same, the college decides the cutoff rank and you should have your ranking within that cutoff range. Applicable to all the students across India. 3. Management quota - the college takes some money from you in the name of donation and admits you.
Faculty
80 % of the faculty have no idea what they are being teaching. They just bring in colourful presentation and just read it out. Most of them are not interested but for the sake of money they just come and go.
