Expecting more from asutosh

Every college has its own good and bad side. And asutosh is my college I don't think I will give much negative remarks about my own college. But I think they should be more attentive towards practical works and internship because now-a-days field experience and certificate matters the most.

The theory part is quite good. But i think they should have give more attention towards the practical work. As I am a journalism student field work is important. Infrastructure is quite good. And teachers are friendly as well. We are under (1+1+1) exam structure as in we have to give selection test in the mid term and then final exam in every year. We are the last batch to give exam in this structure. Our juniors now giving exam in semester system.

No, my college doesn't provide placement & job opportunities. Maybe the provide internship in some subject. But in journalism field they don't provide any internship opportunity which is quite weird because journalism is all about practical and field work.

But in culture field asutosh is quite rich. We celebrate cricket, football tournament every year for boys. There is badminton tournament for girls. And the biggest event ""uddan"" Our inter college fest. This is 3 day fest. Almost every college in kolkata participate in this fest. There are face painting, sketching, street play, 2min fame, dance, band, t-shirt painting, cooking, beat boxing and many more competitions. And we also invite some big artist at the last day of fest to perform.

As asutosh is government Spponserd college the fee structure is definitely quite cheap and feasible enough. And there is also the facility of Consesion for needy students as well. But in some subjects like journalism and B.B.A the fee is little high then the rest subjects.

As asutosh is a government Spponserd college. We will get government Spponserd facilities like "kanyasree" "Sikhasree" For girls and many more like that. But I don't think there are any government Spponserd scholarship for boys. Which is quite sad. But if there is any in both the cases you have to talk with college authority and go Here and there for signature and stamps which is quite time consuming.

Labs are very good. Almost all facilities are given. We also have annual sports day every year. Which is called APL(asutosh premier League) it is one of the biggest sports event in kolkata. Asutosh is quite rich in extracurricular activities.

No. Their is no facility for hostel in asutosh campus. You have to go for PG near hazra or bhawanipur as these places are near asutosh college and there are all the facilities like metro, bus and auto. But there there are no facility for hostel for students in asutosh college.

Yes, of course, I have to say asutosh is all about the bond of senior and juniors. They are soo soo much helpful. I don't think I could have completed my project and documentary without the help of the seniors. Almuni network is very strong. Even after you leave college the seniors are just one call away.

You have to fill up the online form for admission. Then the college authority will be doing your admission according to the merit list. The merit list decided according to the number you got in your higher secondary examination. The % goes up and down according to the subject you want to study.

It's quite good. Staffs are good. Teachers are friendly. But improvement is needed obviously in many field. Like the should be more attentive towards student attendance, practical works, excursion, project, internship and placement as well.
