College review

The college is for medical under graduation and lives upto the name it has created amongst the reputed medical colleges of Gujarat. The faculties are nice and teach the students well. The canteen is a big issue since inception and can be improved.

In the first year there are mock tests as well as part ending tests for anatomy, physiology, biochemistry. There are internal exams which along with the attendance make up for the internal marks which help you to be able to be eligible for gracing in the final exam if you're failing in a particular subject. Second year onwards only internals and prelims are there. Internals are only theory whereas prelims and finals are theory as well as practicals.

Internship is provided by each and every medical college which you have to do for a period of 1 year. You get a stipend of 13000/ month. Job opportunities include becoming a junior resident in any medical college hospital or becoming a medical officer at any PHC/CHC or private hospital. You can also work independently once your permanent registration with the medical council is done.

Every year the days are celebrated like: group day, back to school, red day etc. Also there is the celebration of Ganpati and Navratri every year. There is an annual function where students showcase their talents and have gala time. The sports week is also celebrated every year.

Fee structure is feasible with 50% scholarship for the needy and bright students. The fees are 1,75,000 rs for One semester and have to be paid in the month of February and September each year. There's exam fees of rs 1000 for each year which is non refundable.

Scholarship is offered by the government of Gujarat to all students who have annual income of less than 6 Lacs and have taken admission in MBBS. 50% of the total annual fee upto Rs 3 lacs is waived. For female students the scholarship is extended to 100% per year and the student has to atleast get passing marks for the scholarship to get rolled over for the next academic year. The scholarship process is very easy and requires submission of income tax return of the parents for the current as well as past 2 years.

Labs are very good and the sports are budding in the college with a fully functional basketball court, badminton court and cricket pitch. During each sports week faculties as well as students take part together to win and enjoy.

Senior's are good. There is no such alumni network for MBBS students. But most of the students know some of the senior's and they guide them throughout the mbbs course. There is no ragging and there is good harmony between the students and the alumni.

After giving the NEET UG exam, the merit list is created based on the score of it and the counseling begins. It is an online procedure where you fill up the marks and your credentials and apply for central institutes as well as the state quota.

The faculty is very nice and they teach the students unlike other medical colleges where they're not having any classes. The teachers are helpful and available for the students. The teaching is not only limited to the classroom but also extends in the wards and the opds.
