Remarks
Syllabus is old. Teachers are inexperienced. College infrastructure is huge. Campus is nice. Food is not nice. People are nice. You make great friends. Internet speed is high. I would say overall it's a good experience.
Course Curriculum Overview
It's a bit old syllabus. But recently changes have been made. There is a lot of theory work which is kind of not needed. Teachers are not great but they try Thier best. There are 8 semesters and each semester has 8 ITs and one main exam with viva.
Placement Experience
No internship is provided by college. You need to find on your own. And only 2-3 weeks are given for internship. Placements are nice. The criteria of 60+ aggregate is a must. The students can't answer interview if they're having 2 offers in hand.
College Events
Spectrum the technical event of college. All colleges from India participate. also there are fun activities. Happenings the oldest college fest and the biggest one in Goa. It's glamourous. Bollywood singers and famous DJs are invited. Departments also have their events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is a government funded college so fees are less. Other institutions charge 55000 per semester but GEC it's only 20000. Hostels are cheap. It's is not expensive. Other category people get tuition fees waved off.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, I don't know the names of the scheme's but we have scholarship scheme. People with good scores get it. Poor people get it. Girls get 60000 per semester as their expenses if they do well. Also books are given for free.
Campus Life
Labs are nice. They're huge. Lots of equipment. GEC is the only college to have a Kula bot which costs 10000000. There are a lot of grounds to play sports. There is a guy. Infinity ground is the biggest. It can fit a lot of small stadiums.
Hostel Facilities
No I didn't opt for hostel but hostels are dirty. They don't have proper water supply. No electricity. No rules. No cleanliness. Mess food is not healthy. Floors are dirty. But great memories are made there.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, we have a yearly meeting with alumni. They ask us about experience. Some also give advices. They also offer placements sometimes. They're friendly. We have an alumni night every year which has dine and dinner. They're helpful.
Admission
You need to answer GCET and be the top ones to enter GEC. The portion for gcet is 11-12 th science. Then based on merit students are selected. The top branches are computer engineering electronics and telecommunication engineering and mechanical engineering.
Faculty
They put in efforts but are not effective on the students. The teachers are graduates from college and lack experience. Sometimes they're just selected because of their marks and they have knowledge but no talent of teaching.
