Remarks

The college doesn't give a chance to put forward any negative remarks. I am pretty happy with my decision of choosing the college which gives equal priorities to academics and co curriculum. The Dean of the college is very enthusiastic when it comes to events and gives immense support to all the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is extremely interesting plus informative. My syllabus consists of everything, including the history of journalism, journalism in modern day, media ethics, advertising, PR, radio, the syllabus covers basically all the fields that are important in the aspect of journalism and mass communication. The exam system is a semester system wherein we have semesters every six months. The college is affiliated to the Calcutta University and the exams have three parts- internals, practical/term paper and viva and university examinations.

Placement Experience

4.5

There are placement drives in the college every alternate month where different companies come in to recruit students. They have internships and full time job options, both. I haven't been a part of any internships as of yet but I know that all of those are reputed companies with a good pay.

College Events

5

There are different events that happen almost every month in our college. The college organizes inter college fests on music, dance, theatre, fashion and so on. The college has it's own MUN which is one of the most famous MUNs in the Eastern circuit. The college has it's own annual cultural fest- Umang which is pretty popular and people look forward to it the most.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is a bit on the expensive side but then the college has all kinds of facilities. It has cold water purifiers on all the floors, well built washrooms with hand dryers, hand showers and mirrors. All the classrooms are air-conditioned. The library has a vast collection of books and there is a sports arena which has all kinds of indoor sports.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a facility where one can pay college fees in installments rather than paying it annually. By stating the problem to the chairman, he will grant the option of paying it in two or three instalments, as per your choice and hence, you get a separate challan generated for yourself.

Campus Life

5

The college has a vast range of extra curricular activities from dance to singing, fashion shows to art competitions swimming to horse riding, from rifle shooting to darts, from badminton to cricket, the college has it all with proper practice facilities. The labs are well aqainted with everything that's necessary.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There isn't any hostel facility that the College has but there are numerous PGs within a kilometer's range near our college. The PGs have proper amenities with proper caterers for daily food and various other facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an alumni network that I know of and that's pretty active. They provide a helping hand in the events and other management. The ones who are well settled in life come back for workshops and seminars to help us with our future plans.

Admission

I had applied for the college through it's online website. After filling in the admission form, I had received a text saying that there's an interview process that I need to go through. After the interview, I was told that the final list would be out in a day or so. The list cane out later that evening itself and I had got selected. Then, I was asked to pay the fees for my course and hence, got admitted.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is very thorough with the syllabus and they teach us everything accurately and to the point. They are pretty helpful when it comes to guiding us. They provide us with all sorts of PDFs and teach us using presentations to make it easier for us. They are also available all the time to clear out our doubts via calls or texts.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the theory part of our curriculum isn't much relevant or prepares for real - world applications, only some basic information is what I feel is necessary, although the lab and the practical part prepares us for real - world applications and teaches us a lot of things related to photography, news paper page building, survey report, etc. I believe they should have a better approach and teach more relevant real - world or in demand market skills which'll help the students in the future. Exams are conducted 2 times in a year, once between March - april, and second time between August - September.

Course Curriculum Overview:

From my childhood, I'm into music and this course allows me to further widen my knowledge of the entertainment industry, films, Television and etc. So this course will allow me to understand how media and journalism world works, and help me pursue the art that I love. The timings could be better of the college, but rather than that everything is mostly good. The frequency in my opinion, should be reduced to 3 main semester exams, and to have small mid semester exams throughout. That's my perspective.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. I opted for this course because I thought it would have a good practical work, with good exposure and experience. But this course has nothing as such. The documentary we did was done all by ourselves. College did not help at all. There was a photo journalsm option in one paper but our college did not let us study that. They did not teach anything about photography, no practical training was given. 2. None. The curriculum doesn't prepare us for the real world at all. There is no professional study or activities. No preparation for interviews or real world jobs. Only theoretical and advices from our faculty. College doesn't provide any activity that can help us for the real world job. 3. More and more practical work with the help of college. More exposure needed. High quality software and equipments are needed. Students need a GOOD professional lab. More exciting activities for students. Placement opportunities, internships etc. 4. BAD. Per sem arrives in 2.5 months, too short time

Course Curriculum Overview:

Journalism is one of my favorite sudject . One of the reasons for choosing this subject is that only a journalist can highlight the good and bad aspects of our society before the people. The scope of the subject is journalism but it is huge. We can learn not only journalism but also photography, radio, film studies etc. The behaviors of all the professors in the journalism department in this college is very well. They very carefully explain all the topics thoroughly to the students so that the students do not have to face any difficulty with those topics later. Every year two semesters are taken every six months if the students do all the classes carefully and study well then they can easily pass by getting good marks
