Mtech condition in MNNIT, Allahabad

Positive: college have a good competitive environment which ensure rhe growth of students. Security for girls is very good. Negative: teching level is not upto the mark as the students deserve. infrastructure is not so good. and Labs are wat backward in time. They are living in 1990's in instruments of labs. And the worst part is politics between teachers.

In Course curriculum there are many compulsory subjects and many optional subjects. But in optional subjects you are not the one to decide (by rule you should choose) but the college will do a formality to take your opinion but they will alot you the subject for which the have teacher. exam structure is absolute here. And grades are assigned and CPI are given out of 10. Exam questions are repeated every year so its not so hard to qualify the exams here in M.Tech.

Placement is very good here for B.Tech and average for Mtech. For CS and Electrical department, placement is very good woth highest package of 24 lpa. But for civil and mechanical the placement packages stops at 6.5 lpa. Internship is not provided here.

Events are celebrated but in very conservative manner. All the boys have to go in a separate section and all the girls in separate section. although otherwise festivals are good here. Technical fest is also organised. All kind of competitions are held like robotics, fasion show, drawing, photography, sports, cricket League, etc. Fare are also organised with lots of food shops and games.

Fee structure is feasible for Mtech. and a bit expensive for Btech. Although when i was enrolled then fee was less. This year a hike is made in fee structure which makes it expensive. For Mtech. it was near about 45000 per semester. but now its 60000 to 70000 (approx) per semester.

Scholarship is provided by government here. and was good until all the expenses are hiked, but the stypent is still the same. when i was enrolled, i used to get a 400 per day i.e. 12400 INR per month as stypent.

Extracurricular activities are not enthusiastically supported here but all facilities are available and if you are interested then you can improve your talent. But you teacher for extracurricular activities will be the senior students only. no special teacher/mentor is provided by college.

Yes, I had opted for hostel. Hostel are way bad in this college but are cheap. The food in mess is of low quality and they only makes potato often. In every room overloading is done as they have lesser rooms available. In my 1st year we were aloted room of three with four students in it. And in 2nd year it was room of one with two students in it. It becomes very congusted. even the study table of one person is albe to be accommodated after adjusting two beds in the room.

Alumni network is very good of this college. Most of them are MD in big firms and owners of big startups and IES and AS officers. Most of them are also NRI. Some are professor in big universities. Every year here a alumni meet is organised.

I gave graduate aptitude test engineering (GATE). After qualifying GATE, i entered into common entrance counseling for NITs. In which i was aloted colleges in three steps. I got MNNIT Allahbad in third step. My GATE score was 616 (year 2016). Gate score is valid for 3 years. You can attempt for common counseling for three years or any of the three years afte GATE results.

Some facilities are very good nad take the job of teaching seriously. Whereas some of them are qualified but don't take job seriously but are busy in making there own money by consultancy works. And also some professors are very bad in knowledge but are there to teach because of some sources.
