My college experience

It's never the college that builds you it's your mindset that does. If the college never stops me from doing what I wish to then it won't be good to talk about its bads. I won't say it's your dream college or it's a college you don't dream of. It's a college.

The college had it's own course curriculum till the year 2018 but in the following year it's college curriculum has shifted to that designed by AKTU (AKTU is the body that handles conducting up the UPSEE examination and designing the course curriculum which will be followed in the colleges affiliated to it. The course curriculum till 2018 was quite subjective and old school but the new course curriculum is quite practical and updated to the needs of today's world. Talking about exam structure, In each semester two class tests and semester examination is conducted along with their respective practicals if any. The same follows for first four semesters thereafter you have a seminar to give in (5/6) semster followed by a project in the final year.

Placements and job opportunities is not a thing to talk about this college. The placement rate is quite low and that too just for the (CS/IT) branches. The companies of core branches show up once in a blue moon but things are changing and the placement rate is increasing gradually. Companies like OPTUM, LPGCL have visited the college in recent past and they had left happily. Our college does participate in many pool campus drives which rises some more opportunities for the rising buds.

Love fests and events, the college loves you back, each year a hell lot of events are conducted which are ready to compete with the adrenaline within you. Cultural, Literary, Sports, Arts they cover them all. The college has four major councils which handle it all. Apart from these, there are branch councils which conduct events for their respective branches. Abhinandan ( freshers' night), Sopan, Magnum Opus( Literary events), Mahotsav, Kati patang( Creative and artistic events) Utsav(cultural event) and there is hell lot I missed mentioning. Yeah, I really left mentioning the tech fest where every engineering wishes to create, innovate and compete to show the technical metal within them. At last, we have PACE(inter-branch sports event) and Prabhanjan(inter-college sports event), engineers are good at sports too my friend.

The fee structure is feasible and affordable as compared to other colleges and private institutions. The Electrical Engineering and Information Technology branches are self-financed so their fee is around 15000/- more than other branches. The last fees I paid was Rs 88000 (with hostel ) for the whole year i.e. two semesters.

The Uttar Pradesh Govt. offers scholarships to students who are eligible that are quite a help to overcome the financial stress from their pockets. Last year the govt offered scholarships up to Rs 63,000 for the SC/ST categories and 10,000 for the OBC ( Do read the criteria for your eligibility for scholarships on the website of UP Govt scholarship website). Talking about loan facilities I don't have any idea regarding it you can communicate to the college for the further details.

The hostel infrastructure is decent and maintained up it's worthy to the amount paid. You may face water scarcity sometimes during summers. A three-seater for the freshers, 3&4 seater for the following batch and the last two years a single-seater or double depending on your academic scores. The hostels are well equipped with high-speed internet wifi routers and lan cables with decent speeds. Drinking water coolers are also installed at every hostel.

The alumni of the college are spread everywhere within the country outside the country everywhere. The alumni's are ready to help whenever you ask to. Last year a sum of Rs 600000 was required for supra SAE(it's a motor cart competition) and each of them helped in every way they could and we were able to make our dream cart. Alumni's of the college are love. Seniors are the junior mentors we have in college who are always ready to help with anything we want whether it's books, knowledge, experience they are their to give it all.

BIET Jhansi is an Engineering college situated in Uttar Pradesh, India. For getting admission in almost any college in the state each year Uttar Pradesh State Engineering Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is conducted. Thereafter various rounds are conducted for the selection of students in various college. So in my case, I gave the examination and got upgraded to Biet, Jhansi from Rajkiya College, Azamgarh in the fifth round of counselling. Thereafter the admission procedure was simple I had to fill up the registration form and submit the admission fee and boom I got admission in the college.

Every college is built by the faculty it works with they are the building blocks. The college faculty is well qualified and is highly experienced. Except for the Electrical and Information Technology branches, all the department have permanent faculties. The faculties for the other two departments are recruited each year and the best of the talents are taken care of. The faculties are quite supportive only if their academics are taken care of. Faculties are the way they are a bit strict, a bit supportive. They do the best they can for the betterment of the students not only academics but in everything, you seek help in.
