HK college of pharmacy:- a complex college

Positive remarks Helpful staff, nice alumni network, open green environment in college Negative Canteen is average, strict in respect to attendance, library facilities can be improved with regard to book being available, teachers can be more relaxed regarding extra curricular activities

My course curriculum is last one for my batch (2015-2019) called CGPA system. A new system was announced for the later batches which included projects & a thesis writing I couldn't be part of the change but I am happy it got changed Because our course curriculum was very bad, unnecessarily few subjects were stretched out just to give more modules as well as only if you're in a government college then you can get extra marks via research project & extra curricular activities otherwise you cannot.Exam structure was basic q & a theory paper & a practical exams Which was checked in college until our third year (same for all pharmacy colleges) Then after only in final year external moderation occurs for both theory & practicals For practicals teachers come in their assigned colleges (a different college) to moderate different college's exams & For theory students are assigned a seat number & center just like board exams

After third year there's a mandotary requirement for summer internship as it is university mandated we have 2 options either to search ourselves or depend on college. College usually gives in either industries like umang pharmaceuticals which is industrial pharmacy or in a hospital such as saifee which is hospital pharmacy, You can choose either of them As I went for self internship I dont have a idea about college given internships Also I do know no stipend is given Placements occur during the final year, companies like cipla,Tcs,nestle & many more did came for placements, but marketing based jobs like medical representative, therapy manager etc outnumbered scientific research jobs like quality assurance or even quality control

College celebrates intra college fest nowadays such as Freshers party, a scientific seminar which includes poster presentation & various science based events like model making & quiz , last it celebrates its annual day (which has performances ) in conjunction of cultural week & sports day These include cultural & sports events in which students can participateThis last year our college put a ban for internal reasons such as student's attendance for our pharmacy college's inter college fest organised by IPA MSB SF (which is was part of ) IPA MSB SF standing for Indian pharmaceutical Maharashtra state branch student's forum based in Bombay college of pharmacy in kalina which organises event called Rx, which basically has a healthy competition of events in sports,culturals & technical events

Around 1.25 lacs per annum for open students, it is in average range for any pharmacy college While reserved students get comparatively less fees as well as ebc also get less fees, Also minority students get a chance to get 25k from Maharashtra based scholarship each year In all honesty it is very feasible

As I told the scholarship from Maharashtra government can be availed by any minority students which provides 25k per year for 4 years & about Loan facility I have no idea as such you can buy loans from any bank

Labs are sufficient, not good not bad, average in nature. Sports does have facilities like cricket,volleyball,football ,throwball, carrom & Tt But indoor games are not accessible to us But we can play outdoor games from 3-7 pm Extracurricular activities I have mentioned as per in my previous answer

No I haven't opted for hostels but college doesn't have it's dedicated hostels. It gives you contacts of nearby pg housed for every type of students. In nearby areas which can be opted by any students

Yes our college alumni are very helpful in nature & do provide us with job openings every time They do help if we contact them & Our college organises an alumni meet each year for students to know about different sectors of pharmacy in which the same ex college students are in so it gets more relatable

It was the year 2015, I was struggling with admission process in general I had given all the competitive exams but I had scored pitful in each of them Not sure what to pursue my mind was fixated on medicine but I couldn't qualify because I didn't have marks, in all last ditch attempt I thought of pharmacy.I tried nmims but I was too late for the process, then Google came to my rescue as I searched pharmacy colleges in Mumbai. I saw this name, I came for inquiry & I was wondering about possibility of this college, it was a major change from bustling mithibai to this quaint college But in the end I had no choice but to take it as they were allowing me But there was this catch that I wasn't in the online process (dte) which got more clear in later years btw So I had to take admission via management seats.

Faculty in my college are a very weird bunch, they do go for extra mile to help the students required But they are just average in their teaching skills But in all honesty you can go anytime to ask for doubts If you want to
