My College

This campus basically focus on Academics rather on Cultural Fests like the Main Campus. Till now Ramapuram Campus holds the title of most placed students. But the size of the campus Is very small. Its only about 27 acres where main campus is about 300.

The cource curriculum consists 40+ subjects, weekly assignments, once in a 1.5 months a Cycle test. Three cycle tests are conducted during a semester. Cycle tests, assignment, surprise test and model lab exams contains 50% of the marks and rest for the university paper.

SRM has central placement system, means all the students from totally 6 campuses come to main campus( Kattankulatthur) for the placement season. In current year its in top spot in India offering 6000 jobs till now.

Each and every departments are having separate fests all around the year. Srujan for Civil, Combusted for Mechanical, Texus for CSE etc. The cultural fest for the whole campus is called Strings. All the fests having two categories, Technical and Non Technical.

Its a premium college in India with an expensive fee structure. 2.35Lakhs per year, totally 9.4Lakhs for the 4 years. But with hostel/rented flat and food it will cost you 16 lakhs. If you're in student projects it'll be around 20Lakhs for the whole. So totally 16-20L for 4 years.

College offers scholarship for poor but meritorious students. In that case you must have good grades but father's income should be below 4L in a year. So i couldn't avail the scholarship. Various Banks offer loans, which depends on the Bank.

Labs are Good, all the labs are properly maintained but the lab assistants are not good. They behave they know more than the faculty. Lab apparatuses, Machines, Computers are up to date and well equipped.

I have choose for hostel. Hostel facilities are average. Food options are available, North Indian and South Indian. There are 3 main Hostels which they offer, AC attached(4 sharing), AC non-attached(6sharing, 3sharing), non AC non attached (3sharing). They also have non AC attached but they'll not provide that for Engineering students. Food taste is average but compared to other premium colleges its poor. Mess menu changes in every month though.

Yes. They are very helpful and supportive. SRM has a good chain of alumnis and they respond very well in need. Senior students are very helpful and most of them behave like your own brother. Don't know about girls though ;) They're very helpful and supportive.

I got in SRMJEE exam which is the entrance test to get in SRM. According to the rank we get the campus and course to choose. First 10k students in the merit list gets reduction in College Fees. Rest are same for everyone.

Faculties are not that great. Kind of average. Some of them are very great and some of them are mediocre and very few are poor. For 1st and 2nd year the faculties are not good but from 3rd year we get good and knowledgeable faculties.
