My College

Negative, the college is in a dilapidated condition with non qualified teachers and no extracurricular activities. It's just a money making business. The students aren't happy. They're just putting up with the 4 years they have to spend for a degree.

The course curriculum is highly outdated. The course is not at par with what new modern institutes are teaching or what the world demands. Technology Is progressing everyday. Our course should too. The exam structure is semester based. In each semester we have 2 mid semester exams and a semester exam. We also have various Practical exams, Viva and External and Internal Exams.

The placement and job opportunities are a matter of luck at our college. Only a few companies visit us for placement. We often have to resort to off campus placements. Although the college takes all the credit for our hard earned job and uses it as marketing material. No, the college does not provide us with any internship opportunities. We have to muster it on our own outside.

There are two technical events and a cultural event of our college. 1) TechAcme : techAcme is the largest technical fest of our college. It's a three day extravaganza where people from multiple colleges and city come to participate here. 2)TechFizz : techFizz is the same as techAcme except on a much smaller city scale. 3) Talent Starlight : a Cultural event where you get to showcase your talents and win a prize.

The fee structure is feasible as compared to other privately owned colleges. There are almost no hidden costs. Although each and every student has to pay a sum of 12,000 every year as bus fees. Although more than 50% of the students do not use the college bus yet we have to pay 12,000 every year. This is really stupid.

Scholarship facility is surprisingly very good but it's only for people belonging to Madhya Pradesh or for the people belonging to caste such as SC/ST/OBC. There are no scholarships based on the economic conditions of a student.

It is non- existent at our college. There are simply no sports facilities at our college. There was only one football /cricket ground. However a new building has been constructed over it. Now the students don't have a place to play. The basketball field is also in shambles. The labs are half decent. They have the basic equipmentds. Although, we don't get to spend more time at the labs.

The alumni network only shows up once a year. There is no alumni network. Even if there is we students don't have the access to communicate with them. The seniors on the other hand are very helpful. They are always there when we need them. They've always stood my us in situations that demanded so.

I had appeared for the JEE examinations. I had scored a certain amount of marks. Based on that I applied for online counselling in the MP state. I had to choose between different colleges. Orientatal Institute was my second priority and so I got Oriental according to my marks.

Not up to the mark. Teachers are neglectent. This although comes with a few exceptions. There are a few faculty members who are actually committed to teaching but they are only a handful in number. Teachers are underpaid at our college which is another reason for mediocre teachers.
