BITS Pilani is among the best colleges in India for engineering. It is on par with several IITs. The education provided is of very high standard and the opportunities BITS provide is no less than any IIT. Although the fees is high, it is fully compensated in terms of quality education.

BITS follow a course structure similar to MIT USA. The course is quite extensive and covers a huge array of topics related to the field. Exam structure involves quizzes, Assignments, a midterm examination and an End sem examination called as comprehensive examination.

The placement and job opportunities are very good. BITS has a really good placement record and several MNCs offer good packages. The average package is also quite high as compared to other colleges. BITS has mandatory internships programmes known as Practice School 1 and Practice School 2. Also students are also offered internships by the companies in their 3rd year. They give very good stipend.

BITS Goa organises three fests throughout the academic year namely : Waves the cultural fest, Quark the technical fest, Spree the sports fest, Besides there is an inter-hostel competition known as Zephyr.

Since BITS is a private college, the fees is quite high as compared to the government colleges like IITs and NITs. However the fees is totally compensated by the amount of facilities and opportunities the college provides.

The college does care for needy students. The students whose family income fall below certain level can avail Merit Cum Need Scholarship based on their CGPA. Also the institute provides Scholarships to the students who are the top performers in terms of their CGPA. Almost all the banks provide student loans.

The extracurricular facilities are also quite good. There is a fully equipped gym. Grounds for cricket and football. Badminton courts, tennis courts, basketball courts and a squash court. There are several labs in which reasearches are going on which are funded by both college and the companies. The Computer Lab is very good and the PCs are all up-to-date.

The Hostel is quite good. There are single rooms for seniors and double rooms for the first years. Each room is provided with a table, cot and a cupboard. The hostel has 24/7 water and electricity supply. There is common room which contains a T.T table, 2 carrom boards and a T.V.

The seniors at BITS Goa are very helpful. No single case of ragging has ever been recorded here. The senior junior interaction is facilitated by the student run clubs and departments that manage fests. The alumini network is very strong with several aluminis being at a very high position in a company or are the owners of start-ups.

Entrance through BITSAT which is an online test(MCQ Based). Marks obtained in the test are displayed as soon as the test ends. Then the student has to choose the branches according to his preferences available across the three campuses and submit the list online. Then as their are successive rounds there is a possibility that a student's branch can be upgraded. Finally after the 4th round the student has to report to his allowed campus along with his documents. It happens in August.

The faculty of the college is quite knowledgeable and almost all of the faculties are PhD here with very extensive knowledge in their fields. They have published papers in journals and are even internationally reknowned.
