All you need to know about Sreenidhi College

When we compare with other colleges we may feel that our college is inferior but that's not what it is. The college has a good fame in Hyderabad. The negative I felt in the college was that we were given less number of holidays when compared to other engineering colleges. But academically it is a satisfactory college to complete our graduation.

The Course Curriculum has changed currently for the freshers.It has become student friendly. The subjects other than our domain are thought so that we may have an idea over them. We have exposure to the practical aspects of the subjects. Coming to the exams, we have two mid exams. The first mid exam consists of first half of the syllabus and the second covers the rest. After that we have the final exams, which cover the entire syllabus. Sufficient time is given for the preparation for the exams.

The best aspect for every student is that we will have a job in our hand before leaving the college. There are plenty of job offers during the placements if we are able to clear their entrance tests which deal will with our quantitative ability. The college does provide internships to the students. But we need to pay for the internships depending on the domain we want to pursue in. There is no scope for stipend as we do not have work experience. The average package at my time was 4.5 lakhs per annum.

There is also a positive of being in the college as there are two annual fests in the college. Each semester has a fest. The students themselves organise these events. Other colleges also participate in these events. As other colleges there is also fresher's day for the newly joined students. But the highlight of all these events is Sreevision which happens once an year an Inter College fest. It has a large number of events like cultural, technical and sports related events with handsome prizes. There are a number of clubs in the college which also conduct there own events supported by the college administration. Some of the clubs are Arts club, Sreenidhi Cancer Foundation , Bachpan Prayas , NSS, and so on. The Annual day is also celebrated as a fest with cultural activities.

The fees in the college is not expensive when we compare with the other top colleges in Hyderabad. The students who join the college through entrance exams are benefited with government scheme. Currently (2019) the academic fees is 1.2 lakhs per annum without considering the transport and hostel facilities. It does seems to be expensive but as I said comparitively it is reasonable.

The college does not offer any scholarships but there are many government schemes which benefit the students to meet the fee structure. We can avail loan through State Bank of India by applying through the college with zero interest. The college gives an estimation of our expenditure based on our request. The bank approves our loan request. The most important thing to be noted is it is at zero interest. There are many scholarship offers that the college brings into the notice of the students.

There are good number of labs in the college to do our practical work. Being a Computer Science student I can say that I was satisfactory with the lab facilities. We can also show our extracurricular skills during the annual fest held in the college. The college also supports us if our skills are above the normal range. Sports is also a part of the students in the college. There is area for cricket, football, volleyball and basketball. Indoor games like table tennis , cartons and chess are also encouraged. There are also few clubs where we can move forward our ideas and talents.

The college has the best facilities when compared to other colleges.The only thing is that it is expensive. The hostel fees is 90,000 per annum. The rooms are spacious with attached washrooms. There is also place for sports and entertainment. There are certain restrictions to go out of the hostel. The food is hygienic and a bit North Indian style.

The graduated students are helpful in guiding us in the final year. They share their experience which acts as a plus point for us during the placements and the examinations. There is alumni network in the college. We can communicate them with the help of the college. They also visit the college during the fest or annual day. But the advice from the seniors is enough to succeed in the college life.

TS-EAMCET is a state wide examination in Telangana.By securing a good rank we can get into good colleges in Telangana through counselling process. I secured 3501 rank in this exam. In the counselling process, I was allotted this college based on the merit list. With the help of allotment letter, we can make our admission into this college by submitting the necessary documents.

Most of the faculty guide the students throughout your duration in the college. The faculty is a mix of Professors , assistant professors and graduated students. I felt satisfied with the way the faculty treated all the students. They not only look after our academics but also help us in other aspects. There are certain exceptions which is not a surprise.Finally I would say that the faculty in this college is good enough for a student to blossom.
