HBTU from my point of view

Hbtu is not upto iit or nit level. It is a good college, now in my job people take me seriously because i am from hbtu. College taught me how to deal with politics. My College trained me how to meet deadlines. When i was in college i never liked that place but today what i have is because of hbtu.

A variety of engineering courses are available in my college. Even some unique engineering branches like leather technology, Oil technology, Paint technology, Food Technology are available. Like other engg. College my college follows a semester system i.e. half-yearly with 2 internal exams per semester.

Placement depends upon your branch. If you are from Paint, Plastic technology or computer science engineering the chances of placement will be really high. But less than 25% of students get placed in electrical, electronics, civil engineering leather technology branches. Around 50-60% of students get placed in mechanical engineering. Department for noncore branches ie paint, oil, plastic, leather, food technology provides internships some with a stipend (max 25000 ) some without. Core branches - mechanical, civil, electronic, electrical does not provide any internship students have to search it by themselves

University day( when hbti becomes hbtu). A technical fest with a different name every year(3 days celebration). A cultural fest with a different name every year (3 days celebration) cultural night day one, celebrity night day two,EDM night day three. An athletic meet. A Hobby fest. Independence day celebration. Republic day celebration. Apart from this international conference by the mechanical engineering department. Seminar by paint and oil technology branches

After becoming University the fees have been increased from 58000 to 98000. Still, the fees is lesser than nit and iit. I think fees is affordable by the middle class of India. Fees if information technology is higher than regular branches 30000- 50000 more

Ruchi soya gives scholarship to the topper of oil Technology branch. UP government gives scholarships to students having family incomes less than 5 lakh per annum. My College does not provide any scholarships or loan. As HBTU is a very reputed college in up so students easily get education loan from banks.

On papers everything is wonderful. Labs didn't work in the mechanical engineering department. Hbtu has a very bad culture of not doing practicals. Usually, students just sit and study in labs rather than perform experiments. We have a tennis court, basketball court, football ground, cricket ground in college. We have College football team too.

Hostels are old. But they got renovated last year. Hostel fees 50000rs per annum. Hostel works on the co-operative system i.e. no profit no loss system. Mess is controlled by students, from grocery, to evening snacks everything is in students control so in hbtu students gets better facilities. Students are not allowed to use a cooler, but one can use a cooler with a fine of 1000 rs per annum.

We have strong alumni network. We organise alumni meet in every 3 months. Alumni association tries to help students get placed, in getting internships. College also organise alumni meet every year.

1. Applying for the State engineering entrance exam (UPSEE). 2. Online entrance exam. 3. Results of that exam. 4. Online choice filling. 5. Seat locking (a part of admission fees 20000 was submitted ). 6. Remaining fees submission in college (38000). 7. Registration for the session.

Like government teachers, they are not serious about any student's future. Most of them are very strict, always ready to punish students. Students are dependent on self-study. There are few teachers who really think about the students,they guide students as much as they can.
