Remarks
The campus environment is really good. It is very neat and as the campus is inside a village, the surroundings are clean. The faculty and seniors are really helpful and friendly. The training given to us for placements teach us how to crack the interviews and help us deal with our communication problems and stage fear.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is actually very different compared to many other engineering colleges. The syllabus keepa on getting updated every year as to include only the topics necessary for students for a good career. We have 8 semesters. Two mid sessional exams every semester 20 marks each and 1 final exam of 100 marks. There are 3 tasks totalling 10 marks.
Placement Experience
Placements are not so great for mechanical engineering. Very few companies of mechanical sector come to recruit in our college. But all of them offer good packages. Placements for Computer Engineering and Information Science Engineering are really good in our campus. Placements are offered by some of the clubs of our colleges and even by the companies of our alumni.
College Events
We have a yearly major event called Incredia. This event lasts for 3-4 days and people from across the country come here just to take part in the activities. 3 of the incredia nights are DJ nights. Many famous DJs come to the event every year. Last year, we had a South African DJ settled in India called Candice Redding on the last day of the event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is affordable for many people unlike all the other colleges. For management the maximum the fee is for Computer Engineering at 3 lakhs rupees and for COMEDK its around 1 lakh rupees and CET its even lower at around 53,000 rupees.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have a scholarship for 80,000 rupees as i have scored more than 85% in CBSE 12th grade exams. There are many more scholarships for people of low income and even for minority community and even for sports.
Campus Life
NMAM Institute of Technology is one among many colleges in Karnataka that give equal importance to sports and extra curricular activities. Lots of sports events are hosted in the campus. There are 2 indoor stadiums with 3 multi gyms and table tennis. 2 football grounds, 1 hockey ground, 1 outdoor basketball court and 1 indoor basketball court. Labs are well equipped.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni sponsor some of our projects. Seniors are very helpful, some of them take classes during their free hours on some topics. Many seniors who have completed the courses and got passed out and got placed in core companies visit the campus and give us tips and advices from their experiences.
Admission
I wrote the COMEDK Entrance Exam and got the required score to get a Mechanical Engineering seat in NMAMIT. I visited the Nitte office in Deralakatte and took a seat in Mechanical Engineering at Nitte.
Faculty
The faculty is really friendly and helpful. They try to explain a concept to us in ways that help us understand it clearly. They even help us with our projects and advise us and train us to get good placements and even train us to be successful in our professional life.
