Remarks
The college is quite good, but the pressure becomes too high. Several people go for some side courses also, which becomes difficult to carry with such college pressure. The infrastructure, the facilities and everything is quite good.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is really really tough. It becomes really difficult to go in pace with the college where it's also necessary to attend college. The exam structure is quite good as it enables students to study from time to time.
Placement Experience
The college does provide them but since we just have our bachelor's degree, the stipend is not good. So maximum don't opt for opportunities after their 3 year course, instead they apply for other courses in other places.
College Events
There are several societies in our college, which organize various events. There are departmental seminars, environment related events, goonj, Xavier's premier league, our renowned fest Xavotsav and many others.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite feasible for morning which is for bcom (boys) department and day (BA and BSc) department. But the free structure is a bit expensive for the evening department which is for bcom(co-ed).
Fees and Financial Aid
Frankly, I don't know about any good scholarship or loan facility offered by St Xavier's college(autonomous), Kolkata. People can though get into the college from sports quota or SC, ST, OBC category.
Campus Life
There are well maintained computer, physics, biology, chemistry labs with well mainted equipments. There's a TT room as well. There's a place with green benches named as green benches for students to sit and relax. There's a canteen as well.
Hostel Facilities
I've not opted for the hostel facilities. But since I've my friends staying there, I've heard that the infrastructure facility is really good with separate buildings for boys and girls. Each room has 3 beds, with study tables and chairs too.
Alumni/Alumna
They're definitely helpful. Without their help, organizing a big event like Xavotsav wouldn't be possible at all. Also senior's make sure that everything is going in a correct way, and manage everything.
Admission
The students are selected according to their merit list. There's a specific cutoff for the same. There are 2-3 lists where cutoff are decreased subsequently. Then the admission process is carried out in the department office.
Faculty
Faculty is kinda okay, not as it should be though. We sometimes experience professors who are not able to make us understand. While some are really good in teaching and making us understand. But it quite depends on course.
