One of the best regional college in Karnataka. And also economically good for students as it is less expensive college compared to other colleges. Negative is infrastructure needs to improve as it is old college campus needs to upgrade.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course syllabus is same as VTU but slightly changed as it is a autonomous instituition. present technologies like ML and IOT were also adapted in teaching in the ECE department. Exam structure is we have 3 internals CIE for 25 marks each out of which 2 is considered. Atleast 20 marks should be taken for appearing in external exam. SEE is for 100 marks which is divided by 2 and after adding CIE and SEE marks final results are announced.
Placement Experience
Placement is good for IT and related branches like CSE , ECE, IS. Around 70-80% get places in these branches. Average pay is around 3 lakh with highest package around 6 lakhs. But for mechanical ,civil placement are almost nil in this college.
College Events
There are several events celebrated in the college like for 1st year students Saviskar is celebrated. The college fest called malnad is celebrated in april month every year. Other cultural events like Jamboree are celebrated. There are 9 clubs in the college like leo club, malnad club, eco club, science club etc. They conduct events with respect to there club rules.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee Structure for students through K-CET is 18k for aided branches (EC, ME,CV,EE) and 56k for non aided branches in the college. Apart from that 10 k management fees has to be payed. For SC/ST students fees is zero. For Students from management quota fees is about 1.5lakh per annum and admission fee is dependent on management which will depend on branch.
Fees and Financial Aid
Vidyasiri scholarship is offered to all the students of OBC which is of 18k for all the students. Other scholarships like MHRD is for merit students. For girls Rani chennamma scholarship is offered. There is a Scholarship section is the college where we can get the information about the current scholarship is eligible.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are given better attention in the college. So many activities are conducted . Labs are good with equipments . Sports is a compulsory subject is the college which is of 2 credits. Football , volleyball, basketball , tennis courts are available.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni association is there in the college. There will be event for them every year in the month of November called 'Nenapina doni' . Alumni network is very strong in the college as it is one of the oldest College in Karnataka. Senior students are helpful.
Admission
I wrote K-CET entrance exam and got a good ranking and according to K-CET seats and rules I got admitted to this college. After getting ranking in K-CET , there was a process of seat allotment in online. After the first round results I got this college.
Faculty
One of the best regional college in Karnataka. As it is a autonomous instituition it has several rules slightly different from that of VTU which helps students to score better. Incase if a student fails in SEE there is a chance for him to appear again in Make-up exams to avoid backlog within a month. Faculties are good.
