A journey worth sharing

Good teachers, infrastructure ect are positive sight of the university. Other things Like hostel facilities are available for most of the students. And the fees are feasible. The campus is quite big and you could get busses runs by the University itself. The negative sights are like hostel facilities(mainly food)

Currently I am studying in BA-geography. Currently the University follows the CBCS pattern of UGC. I think it's quite better in respect of any other university. The exam structure- 6 semester in 3 years course. And there will be mid-semester in between these final exams.

There are several department where job are provided just after compliting your education. Say in CHINESE AND JAPANESE you could get a job just after graduation. Other departments like MA-SOCIAL WORK, RURAL DEVELOPMENT provides good jobs. There is a office called placement cell which look upon these factors Internship are provided in many departments.

A long list of occasions are celebrated here 1-"BASANTA UTSAV" is the best festival of visvabharati(santiniketan) in this year-2019 its recorded around 3.5 lakh people visited here its a cultural festival . 2-"POUSH MELA" its celebrate in the last week of December its celebrated on as an annual fair on the day of the born of this university. Its one of the largest and well known fair of west bengal. 3-"ANANDA BAZAR" its celebrated in the month of September-october .in this festival students makes their own stalls of different foods and the money that collected are distibuted to the poor family of tribal groups nearby the University. There's many others festival being celebrated here that's a long list.

You have to pay around 5-6 thousand during admission. Afterwards you Just need to pay semester fees(includes 2 semesters)of nearly 2 thousand per year. Besides that semester fees are just-300 And there are no other fees. The fees are feasible.

Scholarships are not provided in every departments. In science stream departments nearly 3-4 thousands rupees are given per month. And after a semester if your results are good you will awarded with nearly 1000 rupees. And there is not any loan facility known to me.

They are quite good. Most of the department have labs. But significantly they are lacking from infrastructure like computers and other materials. In case of sports I would say its good. There is a department of physical education and you could often participate in any ganes and sports.

Yes. The hostel infrastructure are good but maintainance is poor. The food provided in hostels are not good enough. Their is no permanent kitchen in many of the hostels. The brouders need to eat in college canteen or in nearby hotels. But other Hostel facilities are okay.

Yes. If you are a hostel broaders you will get enough help from the seniors. When the freshers arrives the seniors hepls them in many ways. In case of study you wilk get help from the seniors. And I don't think the anllumni network is strong here.

I got admitted on the basics of merit list. During admission I had fill upped the admission form and there I uploaded my higher secondary marks. On these basic of marks a merit list published and I was called for document verification. And after showing all the valid documents I got the admission.

The best thing about the faculties are. You will got highly qualified professors as it is an university. And besides these they are very punctual in respect of their classes. In every department you will got at least 10-20 teachers. Specialized in different fields.
