The only negative remark I can think of is the even grading system which makes it difficult for many students to maintain a good CPI.Apart from that IIT Kanpur provide a great paltform to explore and pursue once interest and open up ample of career opportunities for the students and above all that a four years of life worth remembering.

The Course Curriculum hear is quite flexible and organized. In the fresher year all students are made to study same fundamental courses of engineering and sciences irrespective of branch. Sophomore year and junior year consists of core courses with some Departmental Electives and some Social Science courses. There are also some slots of open Electives in which one can take any course of some other branch of Interest. There is also provision for minor and double major exclusive to IIT Kanpur. The exam structure various with professor. But mostly consists of couple of major quizzes, a mid semester exam and an end semester exam.

There are various events going on throughout the year in the campus. There are inter hostel competition called Takneek, Inferno and Galaxy. Apart from that there is a week long orientation session for incoming batch. There is E Summit to increase and promote the culture of entrepreneurship in the campus. Then there is annual sports festival Udhgosh, the annual technical festival Techkriti and the most awaited North India 's biggest cultural festival Antaragani is organized and celebrated in the college.

Fees structure is relatively feasible as compared to private colleges. There is also different slabs of fees on the basis of family income which makes it feasible for all the students coming from different financial background.

The instute provides a lot of scholarships on the basis of merit and income and caste. There are scholarships for SC/ST and OBC students. Then there is Merit cum Means Scholarship for students having income below certian figure and have descent CPI. There is various donor scholarships for different departments and programs. One can also avail student loan at quite nominal interest rate from the SBI or UBI branch in the campus with various other benefits.

The instute provides world class sports facilities and labs equipped with quite Advanced and heavy equipments and machinery. There are Science and Technology council, Game and Sports council and Media and Culture Council under Student Gymkhana which consists of different cells, clubs and hobby groups. One will find many options and opportunities to pursue their interest in the campus.

The hostel rate are very nominal and facilities are quite good. Although the infrastructure is old the instute ensures to provide good facilities to it's residing students. There is mess which provide 3 meal course at affordable rates and also canteen is there which is open till late night. Volleyball court, Basketball Court and Football ground are also provided in the hostel.

IIT Kanpur has a very rich alumni network which one of the major attraction of IIT Kanpur. Many distinguished alumni have been at very respectful position in their fields. The senior students are very helpful especially for guidance related to academics, internships and placements. They junior senior interaction is what makes the culture of IIT Kanpur different from other IITs.

There is examination called JEE Mains conducted by CBSE every year. It is common exam for admission in NITs, IIITs and also acceptable by some private engineering colleges. Nearly 15 lakh engineering aspirants give this exam out of which top 1.5 lacs aspirants are selected for JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is entrance exam for all the IITs in India. Nearly tol 10K aspirants of JEE Advanced exam get seats in IITs.

At IITs, we are taught by some of the best professor in the nation. They have very strong fundamentals and have commendable research experience in their respective fields. Some of them have published research papers along with grad students promoting the research among the students in the institute.
